Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Predict Pokemon GO download count (I am inevitably right)

I predict your prediction will be wrong.

You were off by 2.5 million, or 25%. So I was right

Seriously tho, I have no idea what I had in mind back then, so I cant tell you what I was expecting. I was probably just being funny at your title.

And the app hasnt still released worldwide, so you will be right. But until then...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I'd say 500m, depending on how Nintendo supports it with updates and features, and how long people stay addicted to keep the word going

Candy Crush and Angry Birds got every age group interested, would be extremely hard for Pokemon to reach that

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

With the exception of the AARP club I feel like Pokemon has the interest of everyone at this point.  And even then, some of them are getting into it as well.

Especially when they have grandchildren who want to play with grandpa and grandma's iPhone

If my parents (who are 60+ years old each) can figure out geocaching, they certainly can figure this out.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I don't see a billion downloads ... that's quite a bit, how many games have even done that?
Neodegenerate said:
Billion lifetime is completely unrealistic. I would say 50 million tops.

So... how's your appetite for crow these days?

I wouldn't celebrate just yet... 1 Billion downloads is quite the statement. It has a shot at getting their but there's also every chance it won't quite reach those heights.

I read it more as the crow for me saying it would do 50 million tops lifetime than I did that the billion downloads would be realistic myself.

The news last night mentioned that the game has already been downloaded 65 million times...

You must have heard wrong. Confirmed numbers are 15 million, and we have an estimate of 20 million active daily users.

I didn't expect it to be this huge this quick, but I'm not really well versed on mobile download numbers, 1 billion seemed like a lot.

I don't think any game had 1 billion installs, not even Candy Crush. Also, I think people are overestimating appeal of Pokemon GO to general public that plays games like Candy Crush.

Than again, I would've never guessed that Real Racing 3 has 300 millions installs, so there's that.
