Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you buy indie games?

The indie games are getting more attention then ever before and the consoles are getting several indie games every week. Are you buying any of them? Do you only get indie games via PS+ and Gold?

Some indie developers make millions but I'm worried that most of them (almost) don't make any money.

Don't copy random editorials.

Most indie devs don't make much money, but most indie devs don't live from making games.

And yes, I buy indie games, but only if I feel like I actually want it.

Only if they're on my platform of choiceTM

Only if they are on PS+

the crap i buy on iOS is endless... but on console and PC i'm a bit pickier and only get the 90+ metacritic ones

Most indie games are straight up 8-bit recycled crap, there are about half dozen each week on PSN Store.

But I have nothing against indie developers if they make good and interesting games. Like Rocket League, Ethan Carter, Journey and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture that I greatly enjoyed this summer. And I'll certainly be playing No Man's Sky, Tomorrow Children, Wild, Rime...

Used to, but i am starting to enjoy Mario inspired plattformer no 2638 less and less

I have around 60 Indie games on PC and I bought 16 Indies on my Wii U. And enjoyed almost all of them very much. I do inform myself over these games first before I buy one (exept Kickstarters, where this is pretty impossible to do), so I know what to expect from them. I also bought quite a few WiiWare titles, don't remember how many though.

I enjoy indies and I buy them if I think they are worth it.

I got sick of recycled yearly AAA titles like CoD and Assassin's Creed and I find there are a lot of indies out there with interesting ideas that are worth exploring. Sure, they don't fill the same void as large budget titles but big budgets don't necessarily mean good games.

Yes, but like AAA games, I only do so if I find the game interesting.

I'm now filled with determination.
