I don't know, the cardboard image has nothing related to Smash. It's like Shovel Knight has its own amiibo line, though it might be further evidence of its inclusion in Smash.

It seems it will only work with Yacht Club Games...not smash then.

Hope Yacht Club gets a good chunk of money for each Amiibo sold.

So, it's not Super Smash Bros. Collection and it says that it works with Shovel Knight and future Yacht Club games on Nintendo platforms (no new game was announced until now, right?).

Must be huge for such a small developer to get an amiibo.

So, it might not be for Smash? I can't say I'm surprised, I don't think anyone really wanted the Shovel Knight to be in Smash.

Yacht Club Games most probably asked Nintendo if they could have a Shovel Knight amiibo in exchange of some content exclusive or maybe a timed exclusive future game on Wii U/3DS, who knows.

Beautiful. Cool thing is, now more third party games can get their own amiibo.
