The question in the title ^

I think the best controller this gen is hands down the Xbox One controller. Such perfection. I would rate it as my second favorite controller of all time right behind the Gamecube controller. I think the D-pad is great and the controller just melts into your hands.

A close 2nd is the Wii U gamepad. A very good controller.

A distant 3rd is the DualShock 4. I have never liked a playstion controller but that being said this is the best DualShock Sony has made.

What's your opinion?

Very, VERY easily the DualShock 4. Everything about it feels perfect, even addressing some things I never knew were faults in other controllers. Add to that the unmatched comfort and strong suite of unique features (1920x1080, two-buttoned touchpad; 256-colour lightbar; excellent motion control; built-in headphone jack; etc.), and you just can't top it or even come close.

After that, I suppose Xbone. But that's a very distant gap.

Wii U Pro is third. It's kind of like a much cheaper (in terms of construction) 360 pad.

I have a Logitech F710 for my PC. Great controller for its cheap price. Incorporates the best of XB controllers and DS controller IMO.

The gamepad, the second screen is really useful for stuff like map and inventory management, love it, it's also very comfortable to hold, the gyroscope it's pretty precise and off TV is pretty cool when I just wanna lay down and play

I've been using the Wii U Gamepad a lot with Splatoon, as well as a few VC games, and I gotta say, I really love how it feels, and Splatoon is a perfect example of how useful a second screen can be for games, even if no one is using the gamepad to its full potential.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

what no Wii U pro controller?

I would give it to that IF it had analog triggers.

Instead gotta give it to PS4 dual shock.

Gamepad, DS4 and XB1 is more of the same

Xbox Controller. When I'm holding it feels like my penis, it feel so natural to hold

Dual Shock 4 followed very closly by PlayStation Vita. DS4 is makes going back to DS3 or X360 controllers very unpleasent. The comfort of this controller is unmatched. Besides the 6 - 8 hour battery life and the weak L2 R2 buttons, this controller is nearly perfect for traditional gaming. In some cases I have found that the PS Vita is actually better than DS3 or DS4 when used for PlayStation Now and Remote Play. The use of the back touch for L3 R3 and the top corners of the touch screen for L2 R2 can actually work better in some cases. I have also found some games to feel more natural on the Vita Sticks than the DS4.

Overall, I Sony has nailed it with both the traditional gaming pad, and the second screen/remote play device. The real challange now is in the motion control feild. I don't know if PS Move will stand up to HTC and Facebooks offerings. So far the competition looks quite competetive in this feild. That makes the first half of next year very exiting.

Gamepad without a doubt.

I've been playing lot's of great VC games on it that I normally wouldn't have (I'm not playing GBA or SNES games on a big HD TV). Not a fan of Sony's laziness when it comes to controllers. They're all the same and they have the audacity to make you buy new controllers each generation. The Wii U Pro Controller blows it out of the water with its impressive battery life anyway.

Haven't played with an xbone controller yet.
