Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokemon Generations Olympic - Team Selection Thread.

This is where the selection for the 20 members of each Generation's team will be selected. Remember you are selecting Pokemon to compete in the events listed below:

 

 

Events:

Athletic Events - Each team sends in 2 Pokemon unless otherwise stated

Running Sprint: A quick Dash to the finish that's all about how fast you think a Pokemon can run the voting last 24 hours and only 1 vote per person

Marathon: A much longer race than the sprint, this is about which Pokemon you think will have you most endurance and the drive to push it to win a race where speed doesn't mean victory. This event last 48 Hours and each User is allowed to vote once every 24 hours.

4xSprint: This is a relay event where each team sends in 4 Pokemon to represent them. Each Leg last 12 Hours leading to the entire event being 48 hours. Every user is allowed to vote once during each leg of the race.

Shot Put: This is a technique and strength event. The Pokemon uses their strength to throw the heavy spot put as far as possible. This event last 24 hours and users are only allowed to vote once.

Long Jump: This is a jumping event where the Pokemon will run and leap as far as possible before landing into a sand pit. This event will last 24 hours.

High Jump: This is a jumping event where the Pokemon attempts to leap over a bar that gets progressively higher. This event will last 24 hours.

Swimming events - Each team sends in 2 Pokemon unless otherwise stated

Sprint: This and all swimming events are free style, this is a quick dash from one end of a body of water to the next. Voting last 24 hours only 1 vote per user.

Marathon: This is a long race where a Pokemon will cross from one region to another via the Ocean. Voting last 48 hours and each user can vote once every 24 hours.

4xSprint: This is a relay event where each team sends in its 4 fastest swimmers to represent them. Each leg last 12 hours and each user is allowed to vote once per leg.

Diving Race: This is a swimming event which test how fast a water Pokemon can travel as water pressure builds up. The Pokemon will dive to the ocean floor in a race meaning a Pokemon not only has to be fast but also strong.

Aerial Events - Each team sends in 2 Pokemon unless othewise stated

Only Pokemon that can sky battle, or Mega evolve into a flying type may Participate in these events.

Sprint: A straight forward flight from one side to the other, may the fastest flier win. This event last 24 hours.

Marathon: A flight from one region to the next and back. This event last 48 hours and test a competitors endurance.

4xSprint: A relay race where each team sends in 4 flying Pokemon to represent them. Each Leg will last 12 hours and users can vote once per leg.

 

Mountain Events

Mountain Climbing: This is a race to the top of a mountain, Pokemon need to be fast and strong to win. This event Last 24 hours.

4xMountain Climbing: This is a relay where each team sends in 4 Pokemon to represent them. Each leg last 12 hours and a user can vote once per leg.

Triathlon Events - Each team sends in 2 competitors unless otherwsie stated

There are Multiple Triathlon Events Consisting of mutliple varations of the events found above.

Sprint Triathlon: This is a triathlon consisting of Running, swimming and Flying. Each leg last 24 hours and each user can vote once per leg.

Endurance Triathlon: This triathlon consist of Running, swimming and Mountain climbing. Each Leg last 24 hours and each user can vote once per leg.

3xSprint Triathlon: This is relay race where each team sends in 3 Pokemon to represent them, one for the sprint leg, the swimming leg and the Flying leg. Each Leg last 24 hours.

3xEndurance Triathlon: This is a relay race where each team sends in 3 Pokemon to represent them, one for the Running marathon, one for the swimming marathon and one for the mountain climbing. Each leg last 24 hours.

 

Battle Events  

Sky Battle Tournament: Each Team will nominate 2 Pokémon to battle in a Sky battle, only Pokémon that can mega evolve into flying types, have the ability levitate or are on the list of Pokémon capable of sky battling will be allowed to participate. 4 Teams will randomly be selected to have a third competitor entered however only the top 2 positions will be counted in the placements. Each Battle Lasts 24 hours.

 

 

Double Battle Tourney: Each Team will nominate a combination of 2 Pokémon to battle together as team mates in an 8 team tournament. Two teams will randomly be able to have two different teams in the competition, however only the higher placing team will be rewarded with Points. The Battling teams will be randomly divided up and square off against each other until only 2 are left. Each Battle Last 24 hours.

 

 

Single Battle Tourney: The Ultimate Battle Tournament and the finale, each team will select two Pokémon to represent them with the 4 lowest scoring teams able to enter a third battler to help them out. The Tourney will be a double elimination tourney. 16 will enter only 1 will win, and the points are Tripled for this event.

 

 

Each User will Nominated 5 Pokemon from each Gen to the teams. This process will last 48 Hours and the top 20 Pokemon Nominated for each Generation will go on to be members of that region's Team. Please try to select for as many regions as possible as the competition will not begin until each team has hit their 20 Nominations, Please choose wisely.

Gen 1 team Nominations:

#068 Machamp - Very strong Pokemon can do multiple events like shot put and mountain climbing, also an excellent battler.

#059 Arcanine - Very Strong Pokemon extremely fast and a good battler

#078 Rapidash - Very Fast Pokemon will be very helpful in the running events

#149 Dragonite- Very strong Pokemon and can be a main Powerhouse in battle events, Strong swimmer, can run perfect for the run/swim/fly triathlon.

#130 Gyarados- Very strong, good swimmer can be helpful in a number of areas.

Gen 2 Team Nominations

#160 Feraligatr - Strong swimmer, strong Pokemon can run. Good for the endurance triathlon and Strength events as well and is great in battles.

#169 Crobat - One of the Fasters fliers in the Pokemon world and a good battling Pokemon.

#245 Suicune - A Very strong battler, swimmer and runner.

#157 Typhlosion - Good battler and can also run very well.

#162 Furret- One of the best HM Slaves, in other words triathlon. Fast, Can swim quickly, and can climb mountains a well rounded Pokemon.

Gen 3 Team Nominations:

#384 Rayquaza - Strong Battler with an OP Mega, Very strong flier, definitely gonna be a force in this.

#260 Swampert - This guy right here could very well be the most OP guy in the endurance triathlon being good at everything that event has to offer he also is very strong as well

#254 Sceptile - Well rounded, good battler and also very fast at running and climbing.

# 277 Swellow - Fair battle, very fast Flying type could be very viable.

#310 Manectric - Not only is he a good battler but he's also a very fast runner.

Gen 4 Team Nominations:

#448 Lucario - Well rounded can pretty much do everything

#472 Gliscor - Very fast Pokemon and a very Powerful Pokemon in battle.

#419 Floatzel - Was Once the fastest water type Pokemon by base stats, will be very fast in the water as well

#398 Staraptor - Good in Battle, fast flier

#445 Garchomp - Good in Battle, fast climber can be a very good competitor

Gen 5 Team Nominations

#523 Zebstrika - Really really fast Pokemon when it comes to running

#530 Excadrill - Strong battler, should do very well climbing? maybe...

#534 Conkeldurr - Really strong Pokemon should do well in the throwing event and battling as well

#635 Hyrdreigon - Strong Battler, can fly and run and climb and swim. Pretty much can do everything.

#617 Accelgor - Another really fast Pokemon will be a tough one to beat in a race.

Gen 6 Team Nominations

#658 Greninja - Fast, Good swimmer, he's a freaking ninja so he can climb up mountains just by jumping from rock to rock not to mention stickign to the side of it as well

#663 Talonflame - Fast flier, good battler

#689 Barbacle - Powerful, can swim can be useful in multiple events

#695 Heliolisk - Fast runner and not a bad battler

#715 Noivern - Strong battler and flier will be a good addition to the team

Can you guys use the pokedex numbers as well as the names? I'm using the numbers to keep track of most of the information.

I'm not gonna join because I'm not that much of a fan of pokemon to remember all the gens of pokemon and their random attributes.

That being said, what about pokemon like Ditto and Smeargle? And the god of pokemon called Arceus and other legendaries? Would they be legal?
