Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are there too many games coming out on PS4?

Hmm. People seem to forget that historically Sony's consoles have more games of most types than it's competition. The PS4 is just going along with that history. More games mean that you have more choices and those games aren't shovelware as some might like to think.

Lol, no. It's PS3 2008 syndrome all over again!

There is nothing like too many games. Some people may like a particular genre which is not mainstream but many indies make games in that genre. So its great for them. Let's not forget that indies are responsible for the return of survival horror.

One of my favourite genres though is still under-represented in both AAA and indie games :(

I already gave up long time ago, I won't ever be able to play them all, due to both time and money limits, so I mostly play games that have already become classics, plus others that I think they'll become so, or that I'm sure are very good for my tastes anyway, and to tell this I value very much videos, gaming sites, forums and magazines and professional and user reviews (as long as opinions are explained, letting me decide whether something that's a value or a flaw for the reviewer is the same for me), as I wouldn't have all the time and the space to install and play all the demos available.

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")

No. Unless those indie games are crap. Like Plumbers don't wear ties crap.

I think your seeing it the wrong way,

The more options the better and the beauty of it is that there is something for everyone. Thus meaning more appeal and choices for the consumer.

Not every game needs to be AAA or even AA so why not let the little guys shine? There can be some gems in the mix!

Some of the games you are NOT interested in look super fun, if priced right.

Besides, we have too many AAA games that are mediocre and overexpensive. Why isn't anyone complaining about that?

I think indies are getting a lot of unjustified hate. Give it a rest, if you are not interested, don't buy.

With some of those games, even if they were the ONLY game released that MONTH, they would still be overlooked. Competition has nothing to do with it. In my particular case, if ten games release in a month that I want, I'll get all ten of them!

Maybe, success is diluted when releases get busy.

Last year I had a chance to clear a bit of the backlog but now it's just increasing.
