I really like Edge, but it hogs up my CPU like crazy, maybe that's what I get for using a 5 year laptop.

A laptop from 2010 should not have issues running a net browser, like... just no.

I have a lap top from 2008 and it works fine o_o but yeah ms is stupid for not having extensions at launch. Not as many people will switch if they know they can't have ad block yet

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

I don't own an Xbox One and have no problems with Windows 8.1 so do I not really have any reason to upgrade?

Updated and so far I really enjoy it. The transition was really smooth. I'm going to format my computer (been 5 years since my last one!) and clean install Windows 10. I skipped 8 entirely because of the negative response and I was already happy with 7 but it was time for an upgrade. The free upgrade made it a no-brainer for me!

It has been great so far.

Bing already does converstions and gives you the answers just look Goolge..  and has a calculator built in..   and has way less ads then Google..  so yeah.... already done.. so go use it.. lol

Bing doesn't do conversions (at least not on my iphone), and regardless of what I search for, Bing always has at least two ads on top, Google usually doesn't have anything.

Hmm.. So I tested Bing App on my Android and iPhone..  Both did conversation... also..      Just did a few search in each app..  Google either had 1 or 2 AD for every search.. Bing had 1 or NONE for most I did..       So.. i am really confused by both your issues..    conversions work .. and less ads.. as I had stated..

Now I'm on my PC, and I tested everything in the Bing and the Google search bar. Here's the results:

Conversions test 1:

Conversions test 2:

Random search (random ad checking) 1:

Random search 2:

And as a bonus, calculator:

A bit off topic, but what kind of laptop is it? I just have a 2010 Dell Inspiron N5110, which was basically a low end budget laptop to begin with.

Proud to be one of those original 14M. I had some issues at first, but I fixed them and everything is working perfectly fine now. So glad I upgraded.

Ruling out the problems I had the first day I installed it, it is a pretty good browser so far. Thumbnails load a billion times faster unlike Windows 7, start menu customization is amazing with everything where I want it and how I want it. Everything overall reminds me of Windows 7 with a visual and performance redo. I was messing around with Cortana and while she's a bit inaccurate, she's quite amazing with what she can do.

Though on the second day my typing speed was impaired on Skype, I was able to change it tweaking around. There's something that unsettles me and it's the fact that programs are now referred to as apps. Having my Microsoft account linked to my computer's sign-in worries me a bit. What if there's something wrong with their servers and local sign-in is not available. And the fact that the Control Panel is way too simplified bothers me inside. But I guess that's what Microsoft was aiming at. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing.

On a side note, don't open Firefox with Cortana, as it will switch your homepage to Omiga Plus, a browser hijacker. But it won't stay that way when you open the browser normally.

Is it mandatory to link your MS account to your sign in?
I kept my MS account off windows 8.1, I'll enter it when needed but do not want it auto linked in any way. (I don't use the app side at all)

The Reserve your free upgrade has appeared now on my laptop, yet I think I'll wait a bit before upgrading.
The only thing that's not working atm is the windows store, not a big loss except for the fact I can't download Project spark. Somehow it got to 37%, yet it always get stuck on pending after a minute. Hmm windows update is now stuck on preparing to install. 8.1 is falling apart :/

It's no Windows 7 (my personal favorite OS ever) ... but it's not Windows 8 and that's the best news! I'm loving Windows10 so far though. It's SOOOO much smoother than Windows 8 was, things are actually laid out smartly, quick access, love the new simple layout for icons and such. It's just clean and simple and fast. I definitely am loving it.
