That hasn't been said for a long time actually. There was an old quote from Iwata used about the Wii U when it was released, that has resurfaced in speculation about the NX. As far as I know, the only thing I have seen about NX power is that dude on twitter. Although, with that, there was a crap ton of rumors about all the consoles before they were released, some saying that they were way under powered and some that said they were ultra powered. In the end the only ones that knew were the designers of the machines because the dev kits didn't have specifications due to them not being finalized.

Actualy this is recent statment from Miyamoto:

"What we are always striving to do is to find a way to take novel technology that we can take and offer it to people at a price that everybody can afford. And in addition to that, rather than going after the high-end tech spec race and trying to create the most powerful console, really what we want to do is try to find a console that has the best balance of features with the best interface that anyone can use.

But really what's most important to us is, how do we create a system that is both unique and affordable so that everyone can afford it and everyone can enjoy it."

I would be completely satisfied if it was easy to make game for and moderately below xbox one in terms of power.  It's far more important that Nintendo can release at a lower price. With the right price and a great launch lineup with Zelda, Dragon Quest 11, and more it can start with wii like momemtum.

People are getting all excited because it looks like unreal 4 will operate on the system and you need a teraflop for that. Keep in mind bro's that the Nvidia Shield which is already on market at 199.99 has a teraflop.

NX is gonna basically be what Nvidia shield is. A handheld which can stream games to tv and also a console with the same os and similar api's and a teraflop. Plus cheap.

It might be noticeable faster than the ps4 (X1.5 performance wise) but let's find out. I still think they should launch at Q2 2017 the earliest with real next gen hardware.

Well, Nintendo is the definition of Wild card.No matter how much we speculate, Nintendo always finds a way to shatter it all bring something totally different.
But I believe that NX will be at the very least at the same power level as PS4, because they know( god i hope they do) that they need third party in their system, and while sales are the most important part(even if NX is lower, but with higher sales than the other consoles, third parties would come), having a system that facilitates port and power to help developers create their vision would help alot.And the Wii U isnt that much weaker than the others, and without a gamepad making it expensive, i can see it reaching ps4 level powers without making it too expensive(300-350 price range isnt that hard)

What if it will be an affordable VA solution? (cheap) A headset with a main unit - bad graphics by VA standards - but something that works for the masses. Maybe combined with TV-play / WiiU controller. Virtual Boy 2.

True, but everything he said is in conjunction with the Wii U and it's failures. It's also about what they have done, that's not saying they aren't going to try a different tactic. A more powerful console with a cheaper price point while attempting to be a hybrid system could easily be the something unique. It would not be hard to create a console that is equal to the PS4 and/or X1 or similar at a cheaper price point. The tech has come a long way and even some of the ARM processors are making massive strides while being dirt cheap. It's all speculation though. I could very likely see them pull a rabbit out of a hat on this one, especially since there are already games sort of being announced for the system lol.



Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

If their smart, I would hope they make it above, WAY ABOVE.

But this is Nintendo were talking about. Always bucking the trend, always doing things their own way. So with that, I think it will be WAY UNDER POWERED.
