Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should ''camelot software planning'' work on another Golden sun game for Wii U or 3DS?

Should Camelot make another Golden sun game for Nintendo?

Yes, for Wii U 22 25.58%

Yes for 3DS 33 38.37%

Yup for the NX 23 26.74%

Let monolith studios work... 8 9.30%

Total:86

Unless one is already in development, it's probably too late for the Wii U or 3DS, so I'm going to say NX.

I feel like people saying "they should" either haven't played Dark Dawn, or forgot how crap it was. Golden Sun 1 and 2 were decent games. They made up one full story, were fun, and the djinn and psynergy systems were interesting to play around with. Then came Dark Dawn, a sequel many people wanted, but not the one anybody actually asked for. It just wasn't a very good game. I wish it was, but it wasn't. Not to mention they pulled the bs cliffhanger at the end.

It would take a lot to redeem the DS title, and I just don't think Camelot is interested in trying.

You could say the same about Other M. Won't stop people from asking for a new entry in the series. They are obiously asking for a great game just like the original and theres nothing wrong with that.

I have the first two, which I loved, and missed the DS one, is it really that bad?

Why hate systems that bring you great games?

I think it depends what you loved about the first two.  Dark Dawn has some problems with story continuity, and a lot of the party members were pretty forgettable, but the core gameplay, puzzles, and music are still great. There was one dungeon in particular that blew me away, I think I liked it more than the lighthouses in the first two games. The djinn summons also look amazing when I played it..though since it's a DS game, this might not hold water for most people.

Really for me, the first two games excelled more from dungeon design than the overall story or characters, and so I thought the 3rd one was a worthy follow-up in that regard.

It isnt that bad, just worse than the first two.

Like Super_Boom said, the core gameplay, puzzles and music are just are good as the originals but Dark Dawn falls short in the story and character department. As well as being waaaaay too easy of a game. Also, the inclusion of only 1 new summon (well semi new) was very annoying.

If you enjoyed the first two you will enjoy Dark Dawn. Its just it didnt live up to expectations of long time fans.

In saying all this, I really wish Camelot would have another crack at it but maybe for Wii U with some reinvention to the battle system. I love the turn based battles but the ones in previous games are just too simple. Spice it up a little bit. If they could reinvent the battles and perfectly translate the puzzle designs to a 3D world it could be a big hit.

Came here to say this. Golden Sun doesn't reach Shining's quality. A lot of it on account of being a much more juvenile geared series.

Look at my avatar, Shining the Holy Ark alone is a better game than most other RPG's.
