Yeah Australia has similar sales (and crowd surges) just after christmas (boxing day or the day after that, 26th or 27th)... News stories on it are typified by the 12 year old kid who has been instructed by his parents to piss-bolt ahead of everyone else and sit on the $3000 sofa going for $500 or whatever..

Bod, would you mind telling us when the next Wii shipment is gonna come in? I know they do come randomly sometimes but when is the next advertised shipment going on sale?

We should have like a Wii availability tipline thread or something.

My next one was... today, but a smaller one than I'd hoped for. We got 28 in today, and we were out a 7 AM, well before we opened.

Our next one should be next sunday, and it should be quite big. I also know that the Best Buy up the street has 190+ Wiis -- 190+ -- next Sunday.

Today I sold 28 Wiis, 2 360s, and 1 PS3. I got some restock on some seriously oversold Wii games.

The PS3 sale today was interesting: it was the first time I saw someone clearly and visibly decide on the PS3 because of the Blu Ray player. I talked to him about the differences between the 360 and PS3: he was leaning towards the 360. My general pitch for the two consoles is that the 360 does have more games for it, but the PS3 has a Blu Ray player, so the main distinction between the two is a slightly better game library or a Blu Ray player. I told him that it was the cheapest Blu Ray player, and so forth. He hesitated, then talked to his wife about how they were going to get an HDTV so they should get a PS3, and that was that.

Interest continues to increase for all consoles. This is the fastest I've sold out of Wiis in a long time, perhaps all year. I've now sold 4-5 PS3s and 6-9 360s in the last week, which is a 200% (or 3x) increase over mid year. I get more questions and interest in all three consoles.

Hmmm...keep those Wii sales rolling :D. Too bad i couldn't take part in the buy 2 get one free deal at TRU :(....

I guess there is absolutely no sign of the Wii slowing down? How does the demand compare to last holiday season for all three consoles?

No, interest is rapidly increasing, not decreasing. If I got 20ish people a day asking me about Wiis four months ago, I have about 50 now.

Again, interest is increasing for ALL systems, so this isn't exclusive to the Wii.

What about Wii software, Bod? Does it sell? Only first party titles or third parties sell well too?

I wonder if people are aware of the format war when they decide to buy a device for the sake of Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. I know I won't.

EDIT - I mean, I'm not going to buy any device for the sake of Blu-Ray or HD-DVD before the format war is decided.
