Terrorism from extreme comunist groups like the former shinning path, basically a repeat of the 80's. My mom and dad couldn't leave the country because they didn't have the money at the time (altho my dad's sinblings did move for some reason idk). If smth like that happens again we would prob go to the US since I have family there or Chile.

I'm from Peru.

Oh yeah, we've got some of those guys here, too. Not too widespread, thank God. They've done enough damage already. I feel for you.

The Nazis (Portugal)

Are there a lot of them? Here they have about 1-2% support.

I hate to admit I was a Nazi until I was about 18. I'm proud of myself that I managed to wake up and cut all contact with my old friends. A lot of them weren't so lucky. Most are in jail or worse.

Earning enough money so that I can move elsewhere.

Spain.

Been there a few times. Didn't look that bad.

Well, it's not the same being a tourist for a few months than living in there for twenty one years xD

You're right

But at least you're not getting gunned down on the street or something. That's a definite plus

Well, yeah. Spain is definitively better than some other countries on that level, but still, there's some many flaws, corruption and problems within its society and politics that it's just insane, at times.

Don't, I didn't live in those dark years but my mom usually tells me how awful it was back then.

Luckily I was born in the semi peace and economic growth time after that conflict ended.

If I wanted to pursue a career opportunity, one which required me to leave the United States, then I wouldn't have a problem with that. I'm not very patriotic.

I'll live wherever I feel I need to, regardless of what flag it's under. (Of course, changing your country of residence is no simple task by any measure).

Well, there is free movement within Europe, so you "just" have to find a job in an EU-country you like better and then move.

Of course there is the language barrier, but your English is good, so that's a big plus.
