Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft's E3 Conference dominated social media

It's the small victories.

Should it worry Xbox fans that even with such a amazing victory, the Xbox One still lost in the US that month?

Worry? Why? It's still ahead of last year's pace i believe and 360. Aren't you yourself an Xbox fan? It's selling pretty good isn't it?

I am happy with how things are going. Microsoft tried to screw over consumers with the reveal. I'm happy to see the company that tried to pull this is the one that is losing market share all over the world, if they didn't it'd look like it was worth the risk.

I will still enjoy my exclusives, but Microsoft lost my multi counsole support this gen, and good will.

Going by the thread:

  • Microsoft dominated E3
  • Microsoft released a new skew announced/released on E3
  • Microsoft announced free game promotion
  • Microsoft Announced backwards compatibility
  • Microsoft store gave 3 games with purchase of Xbox One
  • Microsoft also has a $50 price advantage
Then goes on to lose NPD.

So they dominated social media, and even sold more E3 week. And yet still haven't won a week WW, and are down like ~800K in the US. I think Sony will take those results.

"Sales of their console is quickly catching up to their rivals in the market that really matters"

this part right here shows that they don't know what they are talking about.  Apparently if xb1 manage to outsell ps4, it will be called a victory even if ps4 is slaugthering xb1 elsewhere.  It's like if this was written by crapgamer, the same ridiculous mentality.

I'm not surprised, Microsoft gave a good reason for people to buy an Xbox One this year while Sony gave good reason for people to buy a PS4 1 to 2 years from now.

And yet Sony is still winning this year, and more likely than not, in the coming years.

@ OP

Lol, really?  Here we are over a month after E3 and MS fans are still desperately trying to push the "MS won" line.  Just let it go.  MS had a good conference, but Sony melted the internet for awhile with their conference.  No point in cherry-picking data to make your case.  I know you guys want an MS win somewhere, but trying to push things that are either subjective or just not true, like an E3 win, just makes others look at the actual important areas that MS are coming up short, like monthly/yearly sales in the US and WW.

That's interesting. I understood why Xbox was more popular on twitch, but I'm surprised it was so much more popular on social media as well.

Because they aren't including things like Final Fantasy 7 Remake. They are talking about mentions of Xbox.  Shenmue 3 by itself probably topped everything combined.

I highly doubt that. Its not a big franchise. Hardly anyone knows about Shenmue, and the previous 2 games didn't sell that well. Even the trailer on youtube has only managed 300k views (not much).

Can't imagine people are going to be convinced about this the second time around.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Well this holiday will tell us if it worked or not. I don't doubt people love their games, as I do too, however sales will tell us in the end. However Europe is a total loss at the moment. So NA and some other areas are still at play.

Great improvement Microsoft, I feel this conference is way better than its 2013/14 one. I look forward to Gamescom with QB, Scalebound, and Crackdown.

Proud to be a Californian.

Why would the Microsoft E3 announcements of Last Month would affect Holiday sales specifically and not like right now? It doesnt make any sense.
