Forums - Sales Discussion - Should we talk about the fact that Rise of the Tomb Raider does not seemto be doing well in pre-orders?

VGC numbers are notoriously unreliable when it comes to pre-orders. I wouldn't read that much into it.

There's no real signs or rumblings of the game struggling to pick up traction so I think it'll do just fine. More interesting will be the split between XOne and 360 sales for me what because of the Fallout 4 thing. Will probably be a knee-jerk reaction which one gets booted to a Christmas present.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

This is one of those rare cases where a game will have more pre-orders after its release date than before

I don't think the people at squeenix who agreed to that exclusivity deal are very happy right now.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Mortal Kombat X... wasn't that released?

What kind of signs would there be for something like that? I don't see many signs that this game is particularly picking up traction either.

For Xb one it's half the world (more than that actually, closer to 60%). If RoTR doesn't do well on Xb one in the USA then there's no where else in the world that can drag the sales up high enough to meet the KPI.

It'll sell like crazy when it comes out on PS4. The time it's getting released is bad timing, due to games like Fallout 4 and Halo, coming out roughly the same time. It's coming out the same day as Fallout 4, for christ's sake. I'm sure people are most excited for Fallout, rather than TR.
