Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan's Best Sellers: Persona 4: Dancing All June Edition (FE: Fates #1 SW, N3DSLL #1 HW)

Week 23, 2015 (Jun 01 - Jun 07)

Week 24, 2015 (Jun 08 - Jun 14)

Week 25, 2015 (Jun 15 - Jun 21)

Week 26, 2015 (Jun 22 - Jun 28)

Week 27, 2015 (Jun 29 - Jul 05)

After the god awful May June brought on some good results for both hardware and software.

- Fire Emblem Fates had the highest first week of any game on the series yet and its likely going on to become the second best selling game in the series, not to shabby for a 20+ year old series.

-Splatoon performed really well, outdoing its first month, it will become the best selling console game of the year in a week or so and its likely it'll be the best selling console game of the year.

-Minecraft keeps showing great legs, its already the best selling Vita game digital+retail, it'll likely become the best at retail too by the end of the year.

- The Witcher 3 also doing very, very good, its already the best selling RPG of this gen (consoles only) thus far, that title won't last long though, not with Persona 5 coming later this year.

3DS moved more software on June that everything else combined.

- The PS4's era of terror is over and the New Nintendo 3DS LL's era of terror resumes, as the later broke the former 4 month streak as the best selling platform.

- WiiU number 2 on hardware, that doesn't happen often, better treausure it because it might not happen again.

What to expect next month?

A Yokai Watch title is coming out on July and its a no brainer that it'll be the best selling game of the month, I'm expecting it to also become the best selling game of the year by next month and to become 2015's first million seller (that last part isn't happening in July though).

That and the new Animal Crossing spin off are the biggest releases for July which will make the New Nintendo 3DS LL be the best selling SKU once again.

Not much else to say, nothing big happening on the PlayStation side, however it seems as if the PS4 will do great without new releases (as shown this month) it'll be interesting to see how the PS4 along with the PSV leg out as the PS3 fades away.

Yoshi isn't doing anything for the WiiU, the only noteworthy thing about the system is how Splatoon will carry it out.

Nintendo domination.

Wait, correct me if I am wrong but did Mario Kart 8 sell ~50k in June 2015 in Japan?

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Your YTD numbers for The Witcher 3 in the Top ten PS4 games for the year don't match with your ltd numbers in the software chart for june.

Other than that, great job!

EDIT: Oh, one includes digital the other doesn't. Nvm then.

Yes (it got a boost from Splatoon because MK8 is bundled with the Wii U, and the Wii U sold much more thanks to Splatoon.)

Much better numbers this month, thanks to the 3DS.

Kylee, what do you think Splatoon will sell LT in Japan?

Yep like 56% of the market share there that month.

For a weird spin-off, I'm actually quite happy to see that P4:DAN sold quite well. Hopefully, this is an indicator that Persona 5 may be the breakthrough entry for the series.

Also, I love your avatar, Kylee.

First of all, THANKYOU for sharing this!!!!!

and YES! NINTENDOMINATION!!!!!'
Both the 3DS and Wii U are owning the software and hardware sales in JUNE!!!!!

Too many variables to be certain.

It depends on what this year holiday bundle is and weather or not the WiiU gets a price cut.

Its not going to be lower than 700k though (I'm expecting it to sell that this year).
