They learned to not ignore the fanbase and pass up on an obviously good game. Xenoblade got good reviews and awards. Devil's Third doesn't look like it will get any of that stuff. What do you mean by slowly? Most 1st party niche Japanese games that get localized launch around the same time in NA and EU. There may be a month long difference for a game or two, but that's it.

There shouldn't be any difference in US/EU localizations, but I was talking about the long lag from Japanese release to Western release primarily. Why Xenoblade is all the way in December, I'll never know.

Likely to capitalize on the holiday season. NoA had Splatoon coming and they probably didn't want to take sales and hype away from that. Xenoblade will probably get heavily marketed during the holiday shopping season.

I've only skimmed this thread, but why is anybody surprised that NoA doesn't want this game? Japan is only getting the game as an Amazon exclusive. Nintendo is only sending the game to a single online retailer. Nintendo of Japan has no faith that the game will sell and are keeping it out of other stores. How about Nintendo of Europe? Although they aren't limiting the release of the game by retailer, they have no problem with publishing a game that will not cater to most of Europe due to only having English and French (with French being text only). The game is basically guaranteed to not sell worth a damn in most European countries. It's safe to say NoE has no faith in the game either.

All NoA did was take the next step beyond a very limited or very gimped release and drop the game entirely. I don't agree that they should be acting as the fun police, but let's face it, if they honestly think the game will be that bad and sell that horribly, maybe we should trust them just a little based on how the release is being handled in the rest of the world.

I don't know if it's been posted, but Siliconera seems to also be reporting that NoA won't be publishing the game. Source: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/07/10/devils-third-wont-be-published-by-nintendo-of-america-but-it-is-coming-here/

Kotaku also seems to corroborate this rumor. Source: http://kotaku.com/its-not-clear-whos-publishing-devils-third-right-now-1717019673

The people at Unseen 64 have comfirmed that there sources say that NoA has no plans of releasing the game in NA. Also saying the frame rate is shit, visual are 2 generations behind, and over all not a fun game. European impressions embargo breaks July 15th, so prepare yourself for these impressions. Here's the short video that talks about it, I'd suggest you listen to it.

You should probably check the timing on everything. This thread was made when it was pretty clear that NoA wasn't going to touch the game, but before anybody had confirmed the Unseen64 report. Siliconera didn't get confirmation and additional details until about 7 hours ago.

Also unseen64 cites the possibility that a another company may publish the game at the end of the video. Of course it's more than likely a bunch of people commenting haven't actually watched.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

Another big casualty for future list wars.

Yeah. Now it's going to be tougher to slam Nintendo exclusives.

Fake edit: apparently not though.

Am I the only one that feels like, even with a new publisher, the game could still miss NA completely? I find it mildly suspicious that the publisher that picked up the game wasn't willing to share their name with the press. I feel like they're waiting to see how the game performs in other countries before absolutely committing to throwing down the cash to get the game published and distributed in NA. Considering the game is pretty much guaranteed to bomb in Europe and is likely to perform terribly in Japan, I get the feeling that by next month, the news will change to "Devil's Third Not Coming to North America".

Of course, I could just be reading into things too much and it's just that publishing rights hadn't been completely transferred yet so nobody wanted to toss out specific company names, but something still feels a little off.
