Maybe in Japan, but what about the EU? They have FIFA deals and whatever, they're still behind. Its nothing to do with games it has. And anyway it wouldn't sell better in Japan, see the 360, where they had tons of Japanese games, and people didn't care.

It's gonna take more than soccer to capture the EU market, let alone just marketing deals for it (i.e. soccer can still be played elsewhere). Just like it takes more than FPS to capture America.

And I wouldn't go so far as to say the 360 had a "ton" of Japanese. They had "some" that released erratically (a few games every here and there). I can only think of Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, the FFXIII series, Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, Project Sylpheed, Nier, and Infinite Undiscovery off the top of my head. What else was there? 

Even this list from Japanese gamers had the overwhelming majority of the games they recommend be non-Japanese games. So, assuming the 360 did have a "ton" of Japanese games, they must have been bad games if their intended target didn't like them.  A bunch of Order: 1888s isn't gonna get you a win in America and a "ton" of bad Japanese games isn't gonna win you Japan.

Disagree on the Japanese games. They are the reason PS4 will have a 6 million or so lead in Japan alone over X1 when this gen is over, and they definitely affect some sales in NA and EU.

And you are going to be disappointed if you think BC will have a big impact on X1 sales.



I concur Celador-San. While I do believe that the Backwards announcement holds a lot of merit, if said announcement would have been done at the beginning of the generation, the outcome could have been different.

Around 90% of the xbone library is the same as the PS4 anyway, so why does it matter. People buy consoles for the multiplats mostly. And multiplats happen to run best on PS4 and PS is a more powerful brand. Japanese gamers have also never shown much intrest in foreign consoles, so Sony consoles always get much more support from Japan. But those games usually aren't big system sellers.



The PS4 has 227 exclusives and 335 multiplatform games.

The xbox one has 110 exclusives. 

Together, that's 337 exclusives and 335 mulitplatform games.

So about half the games are different from the ones that are multiplatform.

Yet you said, "Around 90% of the xbone library is the same as the PS4 anyway."

So how did you get the 90%?

LOL meanwhile in Japan the X1 has like 60k total sales and the PS4 is over a million already... (not to mention that not only japanese people buy the system for those games im a living example...). but yeah im sure that people will run and buy an X1 so they can play Mass Effect for the 3rd time...

The PS4 has more exclusives than the xbox one of any type (indie, AAA, 1st party, 3rd party, console exclusives, remasters) except with timed exclusives.

The PS4 has the better version of third party games consistently.

The PS4 has a widely more diverse game library than the xbox one.

Even if you add one hundred xbox 360 games to the xbox one's library, it still has less games than the PS4. I'm not even tallying in PS Now.

Junk huh? 

 

 

I'm sure you're going to try to further fluff up BC and downplay the PS4's library. 

Ironically, I never call into question or downplay the xbox one or nintendo's quality of games. Why? Because it's a really shitty way to try to devalue or demean a game library just because you don't like the brand.  Those games are awesome to those fan bases.  /story 

So please stop trying to devalue the quality of the PS4 library based on jack shit.
