I'm guessing that 3rd party collaborations thing isn't for NX but rather for WiiU/3DS. They just told 3rd parties about the system 2 weeks ago, I doubt that counts as "Progress", lmao.

unified OS that can play the same games with 2 form factors as of the moment. if it is true, they can really merge two form factors home and handheld. and they can produce software much faster than before. and can cater west and east audience. hopefully they'll remove the region lock. :D

Iwata already confirmed that is a hardware, I didn't see yet confirmation that is home console specifically.

About what exactly NX could be, I first think that NX is platform with two (or more hardwares), home and handheld consoles with have integration, same OS, architecture, games...but after recent infos I have another idea what NX could be.


Nintendo could again pull what they done with Wii coming from GameCube.
NX could be more stronger Wii U with new gimmick with affordable price.
I think gimmick could be that NX is some sort of hybrid, portable console with screen that can be connected on TV and can be used like home console too, with Wii U games support.

What would specifically NX could be compared to the Wii U !?
-Hardver. As soon as the Wii U has launch a 3rd party immediately began to complain of weak CPU, the CPU probably mean stronger ARM instead of PPC, more RAM and somewhat stronger GPU. So a lot stronger CPU ARM compared to the Wii U PPC, 4-6GB RAM and more modern and slightly stronger GPU.
- "Gimmick". NX can actually be a kind of hybrid, sort of a portable console with a touch screen that can send a signal to your TV and use it as a home console too, it would have support for Wii U games.
-Price. Something like this Nintendo would probably priced around $200-250.
-Nintendo would not be pushing this as a new generation, but as a completely new console in this generation.
