But the same thing goes with Phil Spencer statement, and the prove is on how small games available for now , most of the  games that run on backwardcompatibility that available know is just some simple indies or old games from an earlier Xbox 360 first year collection.

Its in beta.

Agree this just a beta testing, but it's too limited even for beta, Phil also said only selective title will be available so he already made statement even in the future they will have some title that will not work.

Its not about what will and won't work. The developer just has to give MS permission to use the game.

If that the case then they should have had all first party games available on Xbox One especially games that published by Microsoft.

I really do wonder if Nadella is forcing the XBox to division to have to go without.

Nadella was appointed CEO in Feb 2014, so it's quite possible even the Rise of Tomb Raider and certainly the Titanfall exclusivity deals were negotiating before Nadella took the reigns of the company.

Since then, MS hasn't scored any real type of third party exclusive.

And like I can understand Sony having more at their show, but to literally get shut out of Batman, Star Wars Battlefront, Assassin's Creed, Destiny, Hitman, and Call of Duty ... I mean all of them? It's mind boggling and I have to wonder if Phil Spencer really had a choice here or not.. Like how could you not even get one of those at your conference?

Dont blame nadela.

Early on One survived of deals signed based on the previous gen, Once PS4 started its sales bonanza things quickly changed.

Nobody would pay what it takes now given the user base, im sure they all are willing since they know PS4 version will still sale more while hopeing MS pay out the booty for commercials and stuff thats mostly irrelevent to the game as a whole.

If dev X tells you to cover their loses expected to be in the 2/3 million (ps4 version) in sales for timed exclusivity on the X1, would you ?

Still, they couldn't even get say one of Assassin's Creed, Hitman, Destiny, COD, Batman, to show up at their show instead of Sony's? No one's asking to fund the entire darn game, but the fact all these publishers opted to go Sony makes me go "hmmm". It's so damn unlike MS who even manage to wrestle things like GTA exclusivity away from Sony when the PS2 was destroying the XBox. I think MS' game division has had the hammer come down as far as being able to burn money like crazy.

XBox was something Ballmer really pushed for and wanted too, lets not forget that. I don't think Nadella "hates" the XBox or anything, but I think it's quite likely that it's simply not as much of a priortiy to him. He has no emotional attachment or vested history with the division ... it's just another ... division to him, probably a fairly minor one at that.

See they were not burning cash liek crazy earlier, they had the early release the lead and the easier to program for console.  They held the cards.

Things flipped, not only that but PS4 record setting is to hard to ignore for any publisher.  No matter the money MS could in theory but logically offer.

I think their heart is in it fine, the bad start however was a kicker and I think MS board have cut their funding.

Hmm, pie.

The real question is why should they? Has it helped them? I'm almost positive that the PS4 version of every game Microsoft has had some sort of exclusive deal with has outsold the XBO version. If Sony wants to throw money away on getting exclusive rights to games, let them.

Call of Duty has been selling more on PS platform since BOII. It makes no sense for it to be with MS anymore.

Microsoft did get Fallout 4 though. PS4 version will still probably outsell the XBO version.

It's about momentum. It's about engagement. MS not partnering with one of the biggest game franchises does send a message. I think they made a mistake by letting that one go. Even if CoD has been waning in popularity lately. It's a good pick up for Sony and the PS4.

That's only two games brah. So not a very strong argument. MS having exclusivity on timed DLC etc. very much did help make the 360 the place to play CoD on consoles as the 360 versions routinely outsold the PS3 version by millions.

You are probably right on that one.

Nope.

Their show was plenty pleasant and got me salivating.

But on the deep pocket they are like that because MS don't throw it away. When gen was starting They got plenty of exclusives, because it made sense and people thinking they would outsell Sony made it cheaper, but now it wouldn't be wise to keep moneyhatting all MP with such disparity. Titanfall would never be exclusive if announced in this e3 for x1.

its time to merge with Nintendo. East meets West. :D

Installbase

PS4 installbase is still growing at insane speeds while the X1 is pretty much dead outside of the Holidays even though they had tons of pricecuts and promotions already.
Even best buy is doing that crazy trade in deal again currently

And obviously
Going with MS only covers the US
Going with Sony covers WORLDWIDE which is Sony dominating
Publishers want to sell their game to everyone on the planet and Sony has a console that isn't dead outside of the US.Something MS will never understand - There are more than 2 months of the year and more than the US on this Planet.

No MS are just more focus on their first party properties.
