The Furiosa character was too one-note for me. Not very nuanced I would say. I found Nux to be the most interesting character of the main 3. That actor gave an energetic performance. His transition from bad to good was so forced though.

Agreed. It was nothing special that I haven't seen before. It's the most overrated movies in years. They didn't even explain what was going on with Max and he was the main charcater. Plot was barely anything, bad guy was nothingoing menacing.....just one big 360 action scene...even if the action was well done.

Can you really compare the back story and life of max in the original, the dynamic and friendship with co workers, the dynamic between the gangs and the survivors, with the grunting lumbering idiots in this latest film?

A shame because the original mad max movies are amongst my favorites.

Max is mad, hence the name Mad Max. Mel Gibson wouldn't have been able to pull that off as well as Tom Hardy.

Much like Mel plays ice cool characters very well.

And when you say you 'expected' twists and turns, surely that's an oxymoron. The very nature of plot twists is that they are unexpected.

You could argue every time max/furiosa changes course, it's a twist.

And my final point, remember that this is set in a post apocalyptic world, no reason to trust anyone, hold any hope, speak more than necessary (talking dehydrates you).

Max is so awesome that when it was his time to shine, taking down the bullet farmer 


he did it off screen... thats how bad-ass he is..

Either way this is excellent marketing for the game coming out this year.

The originals are definitely quality films, highly recommended.
