What is an eclusive and what was counted in this thread?
An exclusive is a game which is not available on any other platform. Hence Remasters do not count and timed exclusives do not count either since these can be played either in the past or present on another console/platform. One notable example is Resogan ( Widely known as one of the PS4's first very good exclusive ) which has not been counted since it was released on both the PS3 and PSVita, late last year. There were various examles were small Japanese titles ( Most notable on the PS3 ) which while exclusive to the console were not counted since the metacritic score could not be found.
What was Alligned?
The year 2006 for the PS3 ( Launch Year ) was aligned with the year 2013 for the PS4 ( Launch Year ) and the year 2007 for the PS3 ( First Full Year ) was aligned with the year 2014 for the PS4 ( Launch Year ).

So overall Sony has not only released less exclusive games on the PS4 when compared to the 14 months of the PS3 but those released are overall not as criticaly acclaimed. Feel free to tell me if I forgot any game so I'll be able to add it
