Nahh, there was a guy in this thread not long ago who got annoying because 99 of 100 posts were negative but complaining about MS with their first party politics is totally right especially when the boss says stuff like "not so many investments in third party anymore because of us starting to concentrate more on first party" and then you even see the number of first-party studios decreasing.

I don't even find Sony's first-party offering more impressive but they have the advantage to get many Japanese games as exclusives just without doing much for it and they also invest huge in third-party atm. Not that I care much about most of this (except Street Fighter and Bloodborne) but that MS is that stupid not realizing how they have to counter that anyhow is beyond me.

Guess Big Team Battle, Forge, and probably some smaller things were pushed back so they could hit the October release date. Great that they're still coming instead of being cut from the game.

It's fine to criticize MS especially if it's because you want them to do better many here have shared their opinion about the bad state of MS 1st party before, my problem is that there are people on this site that are cleary not Xbox fans or even like them that like to voice thier opinion on matters that don't aftect them and don't add anything to the conversation and only like to incite stupid console warz debate.

They would be idiots to ship without forge. Would hit review scores hard I imagine.

In regards to MS first party studios, I somewhat empathize with them tbh. I mean it's easy to form a huge, talented studios around a powerhouse franchise like Halo or Gears in a relatively short amount of time. Of course people will wanna go work on those games, it's a long term, stable job with great prospects if you do well.

But trying to build such a studio around the idea of making something brand new and unproven? Exclusive to a system that is fast off from the market leader position? You're essentially being thrown into the fire with a bunch of people you don't know. Who wants that? Not many I reckon.

Then you can look to indie studios they purchased. One of them wants to be independent again. Ok....what can you really do about it? Force them to stay on? People will just leave, and whoever remains won't be happy. Better to just let them go and keep a good relationship, probably get first dibs on their games moving forward or something.

Bottom line, building more quality first party studios isn't exactly easy.

Most people on that page were starting to worry that Forge wouldn't be released at launch, yet stinkles avoided talking about it. He's usually pretty good at reading most posts and is a regular in that thread so it feels "suspicious," at least to the people on GAF.

You guys are crazy if you can't see what they're trying to do...make money from everywhere basically.if a game sells wether it be xbox or not , they're looking to get their cut and it will be the same when they acquire amd...when a console sells wether its xbox or not they'll be getting their cut.

Its abit like how they make more money of android than their own windows mobile.patents my friends.

Also xbox will stick around , as its about the most "hip,cool" (whatever you want to call it) brand they own.
