Wow, it's exactly the opposite for me. Shadow > Rise > 2013.

2013 is like one of the most overrated games of the decade. None of the games have a story to write home about, but 2013's is especially horrible, it tries to juggle too many characters, and acts like a big even when a character dies, when you barely have made any connection to them. Just merely a good game, not amazing.

Rise and Shadow on the other hand, are amazing imo.

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I'm having a tough time getting into AC Odyssey (or any other game) after RDR2. I'm sure it's a good game with an engaging story but everything from visuals to voice actors, from performance to chacter movement are just so inferior to RDR.

I've heard other people say this. Ironically, I am having the opposite problem. I took a break from RDR2 about halfway into it to finish up some KH games before KH3 released, and now I just don't have the willpower to finish it. It's kind of sad really, the original RDR is my favorite game of all time, but RDR2 just didn't suck me in the same way. Between some questionable design choices such as an over focus on realism during gameplay to the point where it hinders the fun factor, to a main character that I just don't like nearly as much as John Marston, to a story that just feels unnecessary because I know how it will end since it is a prequel. I don't know if I will ever be able to bring myself to finish RDR2 at this point. I really hope that Rockstar gives me the story I wanted for RDR2 for RDR3, a game focused on a younger Landon Ricketts during his gunslinging days, that is a game I'm sure would suck me in just as much as RDR1 did.

RDR1 was my all time favorite game too. Until RDR2 that is. Asking which character I like more, Arthur or John would be like asking which one of my children I love more lol. Imo the realism is what makes the gameplay so enjoyable and fun and why it's right now so hard for me to play any arcade studf like AC. The story.. well it's about the journey, not the destination. Trust me, knowing what happens in RDR1 makes it even more engaging and emotional.

I'm satisfied with Crackdown 3 so far.
Never expected it to be on the same level as GTA or something like that. Gameplay is true to the original.
Performance is really good, graphics are solid (Agents of Mayhem looks a bit better IMO but runs way worse).

What surprised me was the enemy variety. Even early on you already fight normal thugs, robots, drones, shielded thugs, elemental thugs, mechs, turrets, snipers etc.
I'm slightly disappointed about Terry Crews though. Really liked the intro cutscene but apart from his character model, there's not much of him here.

Overall it's definitely a fun game. At the moment I would give it an 8/10 but that can change. The score could increase once I level up enough, get my rocket launcher and have access to the skyscrapers. On the other hand it could also decrease if it's getting too repetitive.

Cant say I agree. Infact, I have the oposite problem. AC Odyssey really highlighted a lot of flaws or RDR 2. The god awful sluggish movement and combat that is worse than GTA 5. Animations taking way too long, the addition of redundant survival systems, an outdated mission structure that is so linear that it's at odds with the freedom of the open world. The "random" events don't really feel random, more scripted.

It looks like a game from 2023, but plays like a game from 2003. That 97 metacritic is way too high, it's definitely one of the most overrated games of this generation.

Just imagine if RDR2 had a similar arcade movement style to AC, FFX or even original RDR etc. What a way to break the immersion, it would look & feel ridiculous. I wouldn't call it sluggish anyway and hope other games will take a similar approach.

Combat could be better but that's a slight problem in most Rockstar games except Max Payne 3. GTAV was worse, just so sloppy I remember really disliking it.

Mission design compliments the open world perfectly. Strong story plays such a huge part so there's no reason to mess with the delivery. It's basically a cinematic experience in an open world so it's you can stay focused on the story after hours of noodling around the world. A good design choice. And it's kind a funny  some people just decided that it's 2018 when design like this becomes outdated heh.

Not sure what you mean about random events feeling scripted. Of course they are, and with some quality scripting. Some events from chapter 2 continue after beating the game in a surprising way etc. Some amazing detail there.

97 meta is more than deserved. Did you play games in 2003?

If this is true then I will hate MS for letting it happen. https://www.nintendo-insider.com/report-scalebound-resurrected-as-a-nintendo-switch-exclusive/

It will be hilarious if true. The shitstorm is going to be magnificent.

Scalebound looked like utter shit anyways, so I wouldnt mind if it remained buried forever. Neither Microsoft or Nintendo should waste their time on this.

If The Switch version of Scalebound is even remotely successful critically even a 80 Meta then MS will come out looking very bad in all this.

MS is all about creative freedom nowadays and they have the money to fund any game, they should have attempted to revive Scalebound and let Kamiya do whatever changes he wanted to do to the game even removing the MP and just focusing on SP. MS needs to build relationships with Japanese studios especially with one of the biggest independent Japanese studios right now.
