Forums - PC Discussion - At least 222 japanese games were released on a microsoft platform this year !

Since the 1st (actually 4th) of january 2015, 222 japanese visual novels were released for Windows.

Most of them are even exclusives !

I just thought it was a fun fact worth sharing, as microsoft and japan aren't usually bring in the same sentence, and when people talk about japanese games they mostly think about consoles and mobile.

This is Major nelson level of spin!

Most of this games are PC exclusives and since Windows is the main PC OS,this games are obviously compatible.

There is no spin in the world that change the fact that xbox is losing j-support pretty fast, specially on bigger games like persona.that is why people are complaining....

Actually the most popular VN engine in the west makes it easy to release on Windows mac and linux simultaneously (renpy, and now tyranobuilder too). Nonetheless, most japanese VNs are windows exclusive (when they are pc exclusive, that is).

I'm dizzy.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

There has definitely been a shift on PC from ten years ago to now with how many Japanese games are available in the West. Shame how many of those titles struggle to find a way to port to Vita, but least they are coming.

Windows ftw

Windows PC = Microsoft Platform.....

Just as a friendly reminder PC is a different environment. While techniquely the OS is Microsoft yes... Microsoft earns NO MONEY from PC games. There is no licensing or platform fee.

This is a monopoly. Please explain to me how Microsoft does not benefit from maintaining this monopoly =)
