Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Zelda U = NX Masterquest edition?

things to consider-
The NX is an entirely new concept
it will likely be some sort of handheld device
WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT YET
details arent due until at least 2016

we should all just stop jumping to conclusions about what the NX will be like

At this point nothing should be off the table on principal.

If it can sell more by making an NX version and benefit Nintendo, then I say do it.

As long as the Wii U also gets a version I don't see a problem.

If NX fails ... IMO that's it for Nintendo as a hardware maker. Done. Finished. Finito. Hello Smartphone gaming company future.

They can't f*ck this up, they need to make sure they come out swinging. Failure is not an option.

Zelda U will release in 2016 and then in 2017-2018 the Definitive HD Remaster of the game will be released for NX

Nope. If they want a Zelda within the first year of the NX, they should just make a good remaster of Skyward Sword, in fact with renewed gameplay and good graphics, it would feel fresh.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Ugh... I guess so...? Wouldn't be good to do it too close to the Wii U release of Zelda, if it does release on NX...

Where's the harm in speculation? No one's "jumping to conclusions", I think we're all smart enough to know we can be completely wrong about our perceptions of the NX. Doesn't mean it's not fun to think and talk about.

I say Zelda U will release in November 2016 for Wii U, NX home and NX handheld, so for three devices at once. No Master Quest, no remaster.

No it will be a super ultra HD Remaster Definitive Version :O

I think this would make the most sense going by Nintendo's logic.

Give the Wii U an "exclusive" Zelda in 2016, not upsetting the fanbase. Offer a superior version of the game a year later on NX, giving it a strong launch title for those who didn't buy a Wii U whilst also being a bonus to fans of the game.

If I was Nintendo though I would just focus entirely on optimising the game for NX, scrap the Wii U version. Thats obviously not in their nature though

No. Zelda NX should -- well, Zelda NX will probably be a handheld game. Let me rephrase.

The first Zelda game for Nintendo's next home console should be Zelda U Gaiden. Just like Ocarina and Majora, reuse a bunch of stuff from Zelda U and try to push out a new Zelda game in just 2-3 years. It would be great for the system to have such a game early in its life.

Once that's done they can go ahead and go balls to the wall spending 6 years or whatever on the next Zelda.

Why to delay 2 years? We don't know in NX is going to be released next year, 2017 or 2020.
Also, they can't even finish the game in a long 4 year cycle and you expect them to release a Master Quest. That's not gonna happen. Zelda team is lazy and happy rererereleasing the same game as a remake.

Oh wait, I almost fell for it.
