this just shows how bad the game developers are.

Mario kart 8 runs 720p60
needforspeed runs 720p30
many similar racing games runs on 360.

If they cant make the game run on wii u they probl dont want to try at all. You can expect that they maybe invest like 1 month work in the wii u version at all.

1. Mariokart 8 follows a simple artstyle. Not much is going there. Plus the game isnt that good looking.

2. Game like project cars aka "realistic" games have lots of complex things going on. It needs a lot of processing power. Plus the weather system or other things needs a lot of work.

As for mariokart 8 digital foundy report It runs at super smooth 60 fps. But has no Anti alising. Just look at the jaggies and textures.

Yes, is THAT good loocking. Playt it first.
No antialiasing, and what?, give us a Project Cars without AA, we have no problem with that!

Much more details

A lot of bitching in those comments. But what did people expect? Running 2 GB or RAM and a strange architecure, plus a CPU and GPU similar to that of the 360! Also, 3rd parties aren't selling on the Wii U. And owners have themselves to blame for that. If this fails, I think any sequels will be scraped from Nintendo consoles. And as for NX, its doomed from the start (if its a home console). 3rd parties aren't going to go back to nintendo because of new hardware. And if Project Car's devs are having problems, send in a team of people from nintendo to help (just like Microsoft did with a few games). But with Nintendo, so subborn, they'll run themselves into the ground because of their continued arrogance.

Fuck these guys.

Honestly.

Kickstarter seems to have a tonne of either investing in a game that will never come, investing in a game that's unplayable, or investing in a game then watching it go to other consoles.

Please Yooka-Laylee, survive.

Even though I now have a PS4 as well as a Wii U, I shall not buy this game on principle. I will not line their pockets at the expense of all those enthusiastic Wii U fans who helped fund this project. I feel so much better that I chose Driveclub over Project Cars this weekend.
Off topic- Driveclub is a fantastic racer.

More reason for me to never back any game early cause once they have my money, they can do anything they want with it. I never liked the whole notion of paying for an incomplete game based on promises and this is exactly why

Mmmh. Sad but if so - who cares?

Not having a Wii U version isn't that big financial loss - other than the development efforts already put into it - and eventually broken promises to those kickstart backers...

But I hope they scale back the graphics. As long as the cars handle "correctly" many Wii U owners won't mind as they didn't expect graphics wonders in the first place.

Much more important is having the cars console or steering wheel on the GamePad. Imagine a force feedback wheel where you can insert the gamepad AND modify all those cars parameters as in "real life" - more Formula 1 feeling isn't possible. Regardless of the graphics fidelity on the TV screen !!!

If they cancel out on kickstarted Wii-U owners I'd say that warrents a class action suit against them as soon as possible. Ideally before they profit off of Wii-U owner's helping to fund the project.

This game wasn't funded through Kickstarter though. I don't know of any KS-funded games that wound up "unplayable" or on the wrong platforms, only of a few that were scrapped.

I wasn't excited for this game I played it was mediocre at best

I mean croudfunded games. Just used the standard one. Like saying Jell-O, or Xerox.

Broken Age was super....well....broken, for a while. And then got split in two. Then the second part got it's own croudfunding campaign again.

Mighty Number 9 got a LOT of croudfunding campains before anything was revealed, then got some more for an anime, then got some more for english voice acting, then when we finally saw gameplay everyone was disappointed.

And there hasnt been word in ages, despite it coming out this year.

Monochroma was to coming to PC, PS3, PS4, 360, XBone and Wii U. Got delayed for two years then everything but the Xbone version was cancelled.

And now Project CARS

That's just off the top of my head

Unfortunately its probably not coming to Wii U. Nintendo is very conservative in this regard otherwise they might have send engineers to help. Plus this tells how expensive the game development is. Too much money is involved. And nobody wants to have a bad reputation and poor sales after spending lots of development resorces.
