I think PS fanbase is slightly more vocal than Ninty's here anyway, which is quite impressive with these numbers.

I think fans want to support their system of choice when its not doing well. In end PS3 era lots of playstation guys used to participate at VGC. Nintendo lovers were also dominant but it seems lots of them have joined after 2014. So IMO fans who wants their preferred system to be popular joins when its in bad shape. Which is happening now and its perfectly normal.
