Forums - Gaming Discussion - Prediction: A stronger Wii U would have won this generation

Playstation was going too strong, so I doubt that OP's premise would have been feasible in the first place. MS has marketing power, so I'd say WiiU was doomed ever since its conception. Maybe on the next generation they can fight again for the first place.

So I guess 3DS vs Vita and DS vs PSP didn't happen?

You know damn well that I was not talking about handhelds and that has nothing to do with consoles. Consoles and handhelds are different markets. The only reason why someone brings up handhelds in a discussion about consoles is to defend nintendo's lack of success with consoles. Yes, nintendo is king of handhelds and everyone knows it but it has nothing to do with this.

"nintendo can't win any other generation against sony"

This statement has nothing to do with home consoles.

Also, handhelds are consoles as well.... Just going to spread a little knowledge. So you could say they have great success with consoles every gen.

I know that others have said it already, but that is not a prediction. The Wii U probably would've sold better if it had the same architecture as PS4 and Xbox One, but I honestly think it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Handhelds are not considered home consoles by the majority of gamers and gaming world. You took what I said out of context to suit your opinion. You knew that I was talking about home consoles. So why did you bring up handhelds? What is the title of the thread? Anything about handhelds? What makes you think I was ever talking about handhelds with my original post?

I don't think it would win, but it certainly would have knocked Xbox One way down and probably out.

With that disastrous start, and two strong consoles, Xbox would be in serious problems.

I wrote on a similar topic in this article.

Please remove "Prediction:" from your OP thread title. This isn't a prediction thread at all.

Agreed. If only because PS4 and Xbone turned out to be a bit rubbish. But hey, a win is a win. Or... would have been a win.

I never said home consoles.

Impossible because Nintendo wouldn't consider such a thing.

Predictions must have a level of believability

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Even if Wii U was x86 architecture, I still think 3rd parties would mostly shun it. Nintendo need to focus on expanding their own output and put together teams that can create western IPs, as well as their tried and trusted franchises.
