Goes to show how much gaming has changed over the years.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

My only criticism is that it's being developed by DICE and published by EA. Dice has had a pretty bad record lately of glitchy and nearly broken games and that isn't helped by EA pushing earlier release dates when games aren't ready.

I love SW and BF but there is absolutely no way I will be buying this at release. Will have to wait for feedback on it that isn't initial because people tend to look past issues initially.

When given enough time DICE has an excellent track record.  However with BF4 they were clearly rushed by EA to get BF4 out the door in time for the next gen launch and they were spread too thin developing for 5 systems.  As for Hardline - lol nobody should take that game seriously.

By now I think EA has learned their lesson, at least we will find out if they have.

Oh yeah, I'm sure DICE has all the time in the world for Battlefront right now! I mean it's not like EA wants the game to release just before the new movie comes out, right?

No, sorry, never gonna buy a DICE game at release again. Never. BF4 was the most epic bugfest I have ever seen and I am STILL pissed at them for that. Seriously, you bought it at release for 70 € and couldn't do shit with it. And then after a year, when the game was finally ready (or at least in a state you could call Beta, damn glith in Metro isn't fixed to this very day...) people could buy the premium version for 30 €! I would have to pay 120 € for that at release! How hard can you screw release buyers over? Ask DICE, they are experts at this!

It's also the main reason why I switched to Call of Duty. You can say what you want about the series. But I got AW at launch and it ran buttery smooth from the very first day - actually from Day 0 to be precise. Fuck DICE.

Yes, I'm really mad.

Seems like if we arent sold on a game with a CG trailer we are isntantly "haters".

Sorry, i refuse that premise. I watched the trailer, i wasnt impressed, the game sounded like a star wars call of duty and i hated how they violated Star wars logic without a care. Therefore... i'm not interested. Does not make me a hater, but simply someone with an opinion.

It also sounds very Titanfall-y.

weird, becuase i didnt think the over complicated stuff at all, when i was younger i liked most movies, and now i still love them to death. Acting is not bad its just how it is. i mean i can tell apart from horrendous acting and good acting, but from good acting to great acting , not much difference, actors have just different styles of acting. I liked it. Jar jar binks. never cared for him. i thought he was just a fun character. Dont hate him or like him really xD can be annoying i guess but ehh. See i mean you can look at the movies way differently

You'll grow out of them. Trust me, I certainly did.

Ehm i dont think so. Let me worry about that my friend. If i love them so much why you want me to not like them. They are not bad in any way. People just like to overthink stuff.

It's LESS content in a NEW game, the last of which was released over 10 YEARS ago.
I expected Battlefront 2 with shiny graphics and updated gameplay, not Battlefield with a starwars skin on it.

So, lets go in order here:

1) This is NOT Battlefront 3
Maybe so, but then why call it battlefront? It's an old franchise that has its iconic style already in place. Why take 10 years to make something completely different? That's like finally getting a new Banjo game with minimal platforming (whoops), or portal and making it into a shooter. Nonsense.

2) Battlefront never had a real campaign
Gameplay wise, sure. But following the 501st into the star wars timeline on the clone/imperial side was definitely in touch with the story focus of star wars in general.

3) It's time to forget the Prequels
No, because some of us actually enjoyed them, at least certain parts. Not to mention that the clone wards could have offered amazing fights, what with the vehicles and droid designs.

4) No Space Battles
Space battles were boring? On pc, with 64 players, it was chaotic and amazing, not to mention fairly innovative. It was a concept to be IMPROVED on, not REMOVED for POSSIBLE dlc.

5) Those Graphics are totally believable
It's been said thousands of times and ill say it too. Sure, the graphics are good, but how is the gameplay? are the maps interesting, the weapons balanced, the servers stable? If past DICE games will represent this, then I worry about the quality.

6) No Galactic Conquest
Great mode that EVERYONE wanted in the game. How many game modes will actually be available anyways?

7) Non-Drivable AT-AT's
Minor loss. Those things were undrinkable in the first place anyways.

but battlefront 2 was a battlefield with starwars reskin. but BF was totaly different when battlefront 2 came out, it wasnt just good, it had no campaign 2, and it had the war feeling just like battlefront, people who played for objectives, not for k/d-ratio, shitloads of vehicles and bots.

1. well they tryed to make a new banjo, and it sucked, the fans went NUTS over the BOLT concept of the game...

2. i would love to see a real campaign, and i know the perfect way to do it, UT Assaultmode with a storyline would  be just perfect.

but what they had in the last was okay too, why not both? 1 in the game and the other as DLC.

3.we need a remake or a new cut of the prequels soon  they have to retcon a lot of BS they did.  but yes, the time is fun and droidekas were sooo great

4. they will not add it in a DLC, that would be sooooo much work, they will make 4 new maps, reskin some weapons and thats it.

5.well we know dice, so let me answer it for you: just some, no, and looool did you saw bf4?

6. thats sooo much work, and they cant sale a sequel every year if they make too much content.

7. they had the time, the money and the tech to make em work...

you have forgotten some stupid BS in their presentation, they count endor as a planet, but its just a moon...

This, i dont unstand how this new battlefront is even defendable for others

It's EA, they find a way to ruin everything.

Aaaaand we're done here.

Game might be good, but given the recent track record of EA and DICE, plus all the news about the game that diehard fans can easily say are disappointing (no space battles, small amount of maps, no AI in most modes, etc), it's not surprising a lot of people aren't thrilled about what they have said so far.

It is surprising to see someone so adamant on defending it though. They haven't even shown any gameplay, have they? Just a bullshot trailer.

Just saw on that image I quoted the 5 planned DLC packs. EA gonna EA. I'll buy this if its any good but make sure I do so used or on a good sale.

I will wait for reviews. If it sucks I can rent it and therefore have no reason to complain. Most DLC comes out after I already lost interest in a game, so having a lot of dlc does not affect me much. As usual I will take a wait and see laid back approach to videogame drama. This world just keeps on spinning.

Battlefield Premium is a decent deal: you get like 20 maps and 20 weapons for $50 in addition to tons of new game modes and vehicles.  However it is really only worth it to the hardcore players, and I always recommend people wait for it to cost ~$30 because by then half the maps will actually be out.

Hahaha I could make a counter list WAY longer than this in favor of the new one.  However it would be stupid to make one before WE KNOW ANYTHING.
