1) This is NOT Battlefront 3

I think this needs to be said right off that bat.  Battlefront 2 is a decade old game that while great is past outdated.  DICE basically has to completely start over at the drawing board here, so going in with the mindset that this is a direct follow-up to BF2 is already setting yourself up for disapointment.

2) Battlefront never had a real campaign

Why people would complain about BF not having a campaign is so nonsensical that it borders on being a parody of the gaming population.  The "Campaign" in the previous BF's was the most tacked on SP I have ever seen.  It was Instant Action with a different name.   Furthermore they have already said there will be a bot mode, and even if there wasn't it is no longer really necessary.  The PS2 era lacked ubiquitous online capabilites but it is 2015 and we can play together now.  I feel like a lot of the disapointment is from Star Wars fans who just want another great SW SP game.  We all do, but Battlefront isn't that game.  I'm sorry.

Ya these two points completely contradict themselves.  Your telling people this isn't the same Battlefront we once knew so don't expect it to be the same DICE had to start all over, oh but that doesn't mean they will add a SP mode its still Battlefront!

Uuuuhhhh....do we have confirmation that there won't be Galactic Conquest? If so, sorry guys, I'm out.

Yeah, I'm not liking how this is shaping up so far. Definitely going to be waiting on this one.

No space battles because "the ones in the last game were half-assed" is a sorry excuse. Why not just make better ones?

Agree with most your points. I played tons of BF2 online on the computer. I actually thought the same team who made battlefield made battlefront back then because the games felt so similar.

I disagree with points 3 and 7.

#3. The prequels like it or not are cannon and will likely be used again. Not now but I would bet we will see there presence in either a map pack and most likely in the sequel to this game. I enjoyed the clone/droid matches in BF2 over rebel/empire matches. This was for two reasons; more interesting hero characters like Maul, and Mace Windu. It was also because the droidekas were so damn fun to play as. As I said earlier I bet we get a prequel map pack with places like Naboo and Coruscant.

#7. I played online with people piloting the old AT-AT and it was never a problem. To be honest it was often boring piloting because they were so slow. It sad though that its not an option.

What about no Mod support?
and just 40 players?
those are major problems for every battlefieldlike game.

and yes it was allways like battlefield. but when the last came out BF was GOOD.

-The only people I see complaining about 40 players are battlefield fans that wanted a reskinned battlefield.  Like I said this will be similar, but nowhere is it written that this needs more or less than 40 players.  32 players wasn't a problem on the console battlefronts at all.

-When was the last time these guys supported mods?  I'm sorry but that's how DICE wants it.

-BF is better now than it ever has been, but this is almost entirely opinion so leave yours at door and I will as well.

Who cares about the old console Battlefront? it was late in the console life and everyone was happy that they could get 24(or 32 i never realy cared about the ps2 version) player mp.

we are early in this console gen, so things are different.

and yes Dice sucks not just since the reveal of the Battlefront trailer...

BF 4 sucked, bf3 sucked, and dont start on hardline.  they started so well with a realy strong first game and a allmost perfect 2nd game, tey declined since than, and Hardline is the new low.

how can you defend em? they are cutting content and taking away important features.

sure you can have fun with the game no matter what, but it could be such a great game if they came up with new Gamemodes and features to add, not just with ideas what to cut to keep costs and content low.

just the beta. its not even a new game, its some more gamemodes for bf4, and some new maps.

My only criticism is that it's being developed by DICE and published by EA. Dice has had a pretty bad record lately of glitchy and nearly broken games and that isn't helped by EA pushing earlier release dates when games aren't ready.

I love SW and BF but there is absolutely no way I will be buying this at release. Will have to wait for feedback on it that isn't initial because people tend to look past issues initially.

When given enough time DICE has an excellent track record.  However with BF4 they were clearly rushed by EA to get BF4 out the door in time for the next gen launch and they were spread too thin developing for 5 systems.  As for Hardline - lol nobody should take that game seriously.

By now I think EA has learned their lesson, at least we will find out if they have.
