Pretty sure it is loosely following it. Has the same ideas. The suit looks identical. And they harp on superman being a god of sorts.

not really the ideals.  The only similarity seems to be batman vs. superman.  the premise of the DKR was that Superman was being a government lapdog was it not?  i didn't think it was about him being a god or anything.  In a way it was sort of like the whole marvels "civil war" except instead of the whole dc universe partaking it was just batman and superman.

As for the trailer, I'm glad it seems like Batman is using a decoder thing to change his voice instead of just trying ot make his voice deep.  Like in arrow.  Always thought it was kind of dumb that a billionare like Bruce wayne would just risk his identity by making his voice deeper and gravely.  You have billions, you can easily make something that can change your voice with your suit.

Btw did Superman bleed ever in the first movie?

Been a while since I saw it but I seem to remember him bleeding (coughing up blood) when he was on Zod's ship and his body was adapting.

Oh, and that whole Civil War thing was kinda touched on in other works over the decades including Pixar's Incredibles and DC's Watchmen.  I love Civil War's handling of it, though.  In TDKR, it came down to Batman and Superman but only because Batman refused to just be quiet like everybody else.  I wouldn't say Superman was a lapdog, really.  He was just the only hero allowed to operate in exchange for everybody else "retiring".

Of course, it's been a while since I read that too so my memories may be a bit off.

The trailer was amazing. WB is putting all of their eggs in this film to success, I hope it pays off. I like how the film carries the consciousness of Superman's action from the previous film and dividing people opinion of him. Only complain I wanted to see Wonder-woman but the films is one year away, they'll save it for another trailer I hope.

This is one aspect that the Marvel refuses to tackle - the advent of metahumans and "gods". Is everyone cool with that? If I was a human and "gods" came to Earth, I'd want us to be prepared and not just be at their mercy.

it's a little different with Marvel.  Everyone is scared of Hulk even Banner.  Tony Stark is a normal human and everything is in the light with him.  What's to fear?  Thor has only been on Earth a couple times and left.  He doesn't live on Earth like Supes and he's not nearly as powerful in the movies.  Hawkeye and Widow are agents and again pretty normal humans for a governing body.  Then of course there's Cap who is an American icon and everyone knows him as well as the fact that he is not crazy powerful.

I still can't believe how great the costume looks. Other than the fat bat symbol, this is easily the best version yet.

I don't see why people have problems with the bat symbol, considering the film is apparently taking ideas from The Dark Knight Returns, in which he has the "fat bat symbol" on his suit, lol :P But y'know, to each their own... I definitely agree with it being the best version yet, and I just know Ben Affleck is gonna' put on a stellar performance, can't wait to see it!

that's not exactly a reason to not dislike it.  Just because it's like a comic doesn't mean it isn't still bad looking.  I don't like it in that story either.

Yet, I expect Civil War to discuss how people are split on reacting to seismic changes that super heroes and all have brought to society.

Wouldn't the existence of beings like Thor who can travel to Earth shake the whole planet? It absolutely would. There are also plenty of metahumans in the MCU but not once have we seen the general public's reaction to what's happening with the superheroes. And, thinking about it, it makes sense that these serious issues aren't talked about in the MCU - the movies are very kid-friendly.

Man of Steel was a horrible and boring movie IMO but this looks like it's shaping up to be a lot better.

I'm pretty sure I recall seeing various members of the publics reactions in news reports at the end of the first avengers movie.

I'm so excited for this movie! I've honestly grown a little tired of the overly light and funny Marvel movies, hopefully Age of Ultron will change my mind...but they've started to get a little sit-com for my taste.
