Forums - Sales Discussion - Bandai Namco - Dark Souls II & Dragon Ball Xenoverse both surpass 2.5 million sales

During their Global Gamers Day event, Bandai Namco announced Dark Souls II has sold over 2.5 million copies since it was released on March 11, 2014. A new version of the game, Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin, which includes all of the DLC packs plus balance changes came out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox One, and PC just a few weeks ago.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse seems to be selling even stronger. The Dimps developed fighting game has sold 2.5 million copies since its February 2015 launch.

This sales are up to April 11/12th right? I'd love to compare them to VGC's number but we sadly can't do that.

Anyways, Dragon Ball is selling much better than expected.

How, HOW??
Somebody please tell me how Dragon Ball managed that O_O

That is... a lot more than i would have expected from Dragon Ball. Always nice to see games sell well though. It'll be interesting to see how Bloodborne stacks against BS2's 2.5m in the long run.

Right but these sales seem huge, I mean did any of the 7th gen Dragon Ball games manage this??

Franchise was literally on its deathbed after ultimate tenkaichi and battle of z. Xenoverse managed to salvage it. Looking forward to the next game.

i'm a little surprised that Xenoverse sold that much.

Stull nice to see a game selling, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
