I think they want Lex to be the same age as Superman, which makes since WE are making a shared universe and needs all the actors as young as they can to play the same role for years to come.

My vision for Lex Luthor is just like yours.
A 40 years man, very inteligent, experiented criminal and sadic.
Jesse will be perfect if this was Smallville, but it's a major film, and it's not so good.

I never mind them changing things as long as it works for a film like the Mandarin twist which I loved. So I'd say with his past that he can pull off Lex classically or differently well

now i've warmed up to Ben Affleck playing my favorite character of all time but i'm still not sold on Jesse as Lex gonna need to see a trailer or even scene that focuses on him.

The smallville lex luthor was during a time when clark kent was a teenager.
This here doesnt fit at all because Jesse looks to young imo.


This guy would be a better lex luthor even tho he is a bit to old (focus is on BETTER than Jesse)

I really don't like this actor, in anyway. Of the films I've seen him in he always plays a douchebag, I just want to punch him. Good luck to him in the role, he'll suit it.
