Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nvidia announces Shield console, $199, more powerful than Wii U, plus 1080p/60 fps streaming service

Interesting..

This will sell just like the Xbox One in Japan

Nintendo needs to find a way to partner with Nvidia on their next console so they can get access to the grid. It would solve every 3rd party game problem they ever have again.

My dad would probably buy this instead of an actual console. He likes Nvidia stuff.

I seriously doubt that the games are running on the box themselves ...

$199 for that type of performance sounds too good to be true and that especially goes for the hardware housing a Tegra X1 which is not even comparable to the X1 ...

There's got to be a catch and I'm guessing that higher end games are online only ...

At first I thought this was really cool, but after reading up on it I've decided I'm not interested at all. I'll be just fine with an ordinary PC and an ordinary console (Wii U in this case)

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

This will give the OUYA a serious run for its money

Streaming? I don't think so. We aren't ready for streaming, no matter what they tell us. Until streaming games has the exact same response time as a game played locally, I'm gonna pass.

So Nvidia is trying to break into the console market because the Big 3 have no reason to buy their parts anymore? After bashing the console market? And with a digital/streaming only box? Yea, good luck to them. They're going to need it.

Is it another PC console or an actual console?
