What says you?

SNES! Now you're playing with power! 113 70.63%

Genesis does what Nintendon't! 47 29.38%

Total:160

SNES has a lot of my all time favourite games so for me, the choice is clear. However Genesis is awesome in it's own regard. Sonic, Streets of Rage, Shining Force, Shinobi.... you really can't go wrong with either system.

idk... they're both awesome... i'll have to go with the Atari 2600. The Intellivision does have a good amount of great games, but the Atari has allot more. Also, don't forget the Colecovision, it might have sold the least out of the bigger 3, but it's still worth mentioning, Bonk's Adventure is a good game...

I think if SNES big hitters go against Genesis big hitters, SNES wins easily.

Big titles aside, Genesis had some very innovative exclusive titles, a lot of which are not even that known.

Sega was also downright bonkers when it came to experimentation... Things like having to actually reset the console to reach the last level in Xmen, or all the secret stuff burried in Streets of Rage 3, or making an awesome Batman and Robin game and pairing it with the craziest techno trance music soundtrack, or the whole Gusntar Heroes game.

Combine that with a slew of absolutely original games like the Ooze, Comix Zone, Splaterhouse series, Mutant league Hockey, Herzog Zwei, Landstalker...makes the Genesis a more interesting console to me.

Good choice my man. I agree the big 3 are all awesome, but Bonk's Adventure was my childhood, you know?

Indeed. The Turbografx-16 is underrated!

SNES all day, every day baby. Superior library in virtually every genre imaginable.

There's always been one pro-Genesis argument from back in the day and that people will still bring up to this day that I've never understood... Genesis is better than SNES because of "sports games."

Ummm, wut? Did the SNES not have the yearly EA Madden & NHL games with the exact same features? Did it not have awesome arcade ports like NBA Jam, or exclusive quality titles starring some of the biggest names in sports like Ken Griffey Jr Baseball?

Oh yeah that's definitely true about Sega throughout their entire history. I get what you mean too, Sega games especially from the 16 and 32 bit era seem to have been overshadowed or forgotten, which is really a shame. Sega was really a talented developer, expanding into many genres along with arcade games, overall not afraid to try something new. What's also nice about Genesis is I find the games are pretty cheap now a days compared to SNES, it's also easy to find the games boxed. So it's a good console for beginners to collect for and a lot of hidden gems to find!

It always baffles me the lack of knowledge most people have when it comes to megadrive games.  I mean if I mentioned a game like puggsy on the internet I bet they would not have a clue what it was. A very unique games by the way. Its strange because people who I meet in real life seem to know more about the megadrive library than on the internet.

With that said though the megadrive was popular in good ol England.

Super Nintendo
However, Sega's Jurassic Park, Smash TV, Mortal Kombat ports, to name a few were superior to their SNES counterparts.

Mortal Kombat had terrible graphics and sound effects in the Genesis version. The only advantage it had was blood.

SNES all the way. The Genesis never had an equal to Super Metroid, A Link To The Past, or Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem.
