Nah, they should collaborate with Sony and revive Xenosaga.

Xenosaga's rights are owned by Namco Bandai.

Square Enix may not kill their franchises like Sega but they do like to sit on them for like forever.

Well, this one died because the crucial developers left the company, and this game had an ambitious vision specific to the developers. Having said that, if SE ever wanted to bring it back they still can, even if they did this. Sega didn't sell the rights to Bayonetta in its entirely to Nintendo, just the right to make Bayonetta 2. Square-Enix can stipulate the same, make money, and do whatever they want with the IP in all other instances.

i have been expecting a sequel or at least a remake of mario rpg 7 stars and nothing

I know I'd buy it. A lot depends on the sales of Xenoblade Chronicles X. I think they should take the engine and resources from that game to lower the costs of the remake and go for it. I'm so angry that Xenogears isn't on EU PSN and I can't play it on my Vita A remake on Wii U would be ace! But probably XCX has to sell at least 1.2 mil for anyone to even think about it.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

when nintendo acquired monolith i thought they were interested in creating something very storyheavy like xenogears and xenosaga were. but with xenoblade it was pretty clear that open world rpg with simplified story was more their plan.

I expect Xenoblade Chronicles X to have a more complex story than Xenoblade (centered around Elma as the main protagonist.) I don't expect Xenogears level of detail or convolusion, but it should definitely be a multidimensional story, with both a complex enough meta-plot as well as interesting sub-plots and characters. I wouldn't exactly call Xenoblade's story simple in the context of all RPG's, either. We'll have to wait and see.

it's always a question of what you're comparing it to:

compared to the average story we've seen in rpgs so far... yes, you're right.

compared to what xenogears and xenosaga trilogy were... no.
