Well, this one died because the crucial developers left the company, and this game had an ambitious vision specific to the developers. Having said that, if SE ever wanted to bring it back they still can, even if they did this. Sega didn't sell the rights to Bayonetta in its entirely to Nintendo, just the right to make Bayonetta 2. Square-Enix can stipulate the same, make money, and do whatever they want with the IP in all other instances.
