The Vita only needs Japan and the rest of the world to outsell the Wii U. Also sony support is not as important as third parties and they seem on side with Vita.

I think Wii U will overtake vita this holiday, but Vita will return to the top in the longrun because Japan.

Wii u outsold psv in Holiday 2014 and now in January i don't see how vita will start to outsell it.

Third party are not in any side ,release some port and niche games won't help vita much

Doesn't Nintendo hardware heavily spike over holidays?

That's a reason why i thin wii u can outsell Vita but wii u is still ahead of vita even after the holiday

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

In the end, I think Wii U will be more profitable than Vita, which makes it the more successful console.

It would take an utter miracle for the Wii U to become more profitable than the Vita now.

Really? I don't think so. Nintendo is selling way more software for Wii U than Sony for Vita, which means moar moneeeh

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I strongly disagree. Vita is on a downfall while Wii U is on ascension (YoY).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Wii U will overtake the Vita in 2015.

Sony is making a profit on hardware, on memory cards and selling a lot of software without costs of physical retail. They're also not having to pump the money into the development of that software.

Do you have accurate figures for Wii U vs Vita software sales? Given the vast majority of Vita titles are digital only and we don't get figures or any tracking of that. I'd say there are bigger question marks over Vita software sales than there are hardware sales, and that's another big ??? in  Europe and the "Rest of the World".

As rightly as it has been pointed out that this thread does not deal with "facts" at all. You have to admit there's got to be a reason 3rd parties are so content with putting their software on Vita.

Might have to start doing a chalkboard for the "Wii U will over take the Vita in..." predictions. 2012, 2013, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, 2014 etc. already down.

Cripple Fight jpeg really fitting for this epic battle.

What games does Sony even release for PSVita? I doubt that thing is making them a significant amount of money. This will probably be their last handheld.

Besides, Nintendo also has digital sales, MPT is in beast mode right now (already 6th in the overall sales list in my country and many others).

Nintendo is also making a profit from Wii U HW now, and they're also selling quite a lot of accessories like controllers and what not.

The vast majority of SW sales on Vita are digital? Do you have any source for that? VGC have Wii U SW at 44m and Vita SW at 35m, and Vita have been out for quite a bit longer and most of Wii U's sales are first party, which means more money for Nintendo.

I actually DO find it pretty strange why 3rd parties keep on supporting Vita. Do you know the attach rate of Vita?

One just needs to look at any 2+ months of sales last year to understand that Wii U is closing the gap.

More games and better games are coming out on the Wii U this year. Wii U is selling more per week than Vita. Nah. Vita will loose overall this gen.
