Forums - Sales Discussion - 65 million Skylanders figures sold in 2014

At the end of 2013 (http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ACTI/3754543540x0x724090/88C25F20-F14D-4D52-A5DA-E3A65B92BF7C/Q4_ATVI_Slides_2-6-14.pdf) Activision had sold an amazing 175 million Skylanders figures.

Well with today's 4th quarter report (http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ACTI/3754543540x0x807514/542CCE9F-3FEF-43BF-A0E3-54D7D697F8F9/Q4_2014_ATVI_Slides.pdf) that figure is now 240 million.

Unfortunatly Disney has not revealed how many Infinity figures they have sold, only that the amount of seperate figures sold in 2014's 4th quarter was lower than in 2013 while starter kit's were up.

And suddenly Nintendo's 5.7 million Amiibo sold announcement doesn't seem so impressive...

Well to be fair, that 5.7 million figure is for just a little over a month and with Amiibo being available for a single device with an install base under 10 million (3DS doesn't have Amiibo support yet). While that 65 million figure is for an entire year with Skylanders being available on 10 platforms (Wii, Wii U, 3DS, 360, Xone, PS3, PS4, iOS, Android, Fire OS) with combined install bases of like a billion.

And remember, this was only wave 1 and 2, which were I believe only 18 figures. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow, you killed it. :P

OP: That's impressive. Personally I think they're too ugly for me to buy any of them tho.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Or does it? The install base of the Wii U is much lower than all the consoles that Skylanders is on.

You might say that not everyone owns Skylanders, but not every Wii U owner owns a amiibo compatible game either.

I live in a UK town of 30,000 people, there is no were in my town that I can buy a physical video game I have to go to the larger towns of 100,000 people to do that.  I can buy Skylanders figures from 4 places within a 15 minute walk of my house.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

That's crazy. I actually went to some electronics stores around here yesterday and I was shocked that in all of them, more space was dedicated to Skylanders and Disney Infinity toys than to all PS3/PS4/X360/XOne/WiiU/3DS games combined. Utter madness.
