Is Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn coming to Xbox One? During the Tokaigi Japan Game Party, Director Naoki Yoshida picked up an Xbox One controller and prominently featured it in a shot. The controller was never used in the demonstration but was given a lot of attention.

Last year at Gamescom, Yoshida stated that Square Enix would ship an Xbox One version of the game as soon as Microsoft allowed cross-platform play. Considering that Windows 10 brings just that when it releases in a few months, it most likely means that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will make its way to the Xbox One.



What do you think? Will it happen? All signs point to this. Considering that Square Enix has been heavily involved with Microsoft since Rise of the Tomb Raider became an Xbox exclusive, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn coming to Xbox One is even more likely. The strengthening of the partnership between the two companies may have triggered this. Only time will tell. We have to wait for an official announcement.

If MS allow cross-platform play then of course it will end up on the X1, the lack of it was the primary reason the game is still a PS/PC exclusive.

I wonder how far SE and MS would be willing to compromise with each other though. Are we talking just Xbox/W10 cross play, or full PS/Xbox/PC cross-play? If it's the latter then yay, welcome Xbox players. If it's the former than i'll be rather disappointed with MS... It would be a shame to see FF14's community segmented.

He meant cross platform play with PS4, im sure he could of already done it with windows.

The fact is the game needs to be cross platform with all platforms. So no it aint coming.

Yes which is why it wont come to xbox, unless MS allow cross play with playstation. 

That depends on Microsoft.

They have said before that they would like to bring it to Xbox, but Microsoft's closed network was an impossibility.
