Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can we get a new Xenoblade as a launch tittle for Nintendo's next home console?

Didn't the original Xenoblade and X take at least more than three years each? How can they make a bigger game that X during the first year of the NexTendo, when most developers are still learning all of the intricacies of the console?

Also, a game this niche could really use a bigger installbase, rather than an early release.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Probs not. HOWEVER, I can see it coming out within a year or so after the new console launches. It really just depends when they start development.

it was 4 years, wich means they can make another in 3 years.

Well i agree with this. But i doubt it was 5 years, maybe 3.5years to 4years imo. Definitely longer than 3years

Takahashi has said that planning and pre-production began right after they finished the Wii game in 2010, but yeah, actual porgramming will probably end up being around 3.5 - 4 years by the time the game releases in April.

Some people aren't reading the OP. And I'm not talking about rushing a game. monolith should be able to deliver a new xenoblade in 3 years without any lack of content/quality.

5 years from the release of Xenoblade on Wii to the release of X on Wii U. Why would the new game have a shorter wait than this one? They'll need to learn the new system, like they had to learn Wii U.

And besides, 3 years would still mean a 2018 release, I'm pretty sure Nintendo's next system will launch before that.

It'd be awesome if it happens, but the production demands of a game like Xenoblade makes it highly unlikely in my assessment.

It is highly unlikley but not impossible.

It will depend on how much resources from XCX they can move onto the next game in series. It will also depend on the type of game, if the next Xenoblade game is really just a MMORPG set in a tweaked but similar landscape as XCX then I can see it get done in time for the next Nintendo home console... if they start work on it immediately and don't get distracted by any other major projects.

no. I don't want a rushed game.

Also next gen = expectation will be that the game will be even bigger world like at least 2x as big. So you can't exactly copy and paste assets too much or it become so obvious.

They're already working really hard on Xeno X, so I doubt they will start development on a new one so soon.

Would be cool, though.

It's less than 5 years, closer to 4 if they didn't start xeno x right away. And I also mentioned launch window (early 2018), read the OP.
