Forums - Sony Discussion - Who's up for some Soul Calibur II matches?

Well, seeing as how the online scene for Soul Calibur II is dead, I figure it would be best for me to ask someone to get some matches in.  Does anyone have the game, and can play on a competent level?  If I play seven matches online, I get my first platinum trophy.  Normally I'm not into trophy gathering, but I kinda wanted a platinum, which meant finishing weapon master mode, ad buying all the weapons, unlocking lizard man, etc.

I hate this game now.  I never want to go through the trouble of completing weapon master again.  Did it at least twice on PS2, and again on PS3.  So much trouble.  Anyway, I only need to play a total of 7 matches online.  Only need to win 3 of them.

Anyone up for it?

I'm up for the game being ported to Wii U so I could play as Link. He's the whole reason why I got into the franchise

Oh.... Well, if the game were coming to Wii U, it would have come long ago. Both the 360, and PS3 versions have Heihachi, Spawn, and Necrid. No doubt if they had made a Wii U version, it would have been the definitive version and include every guest character.

But, I've heard talks that Link wasn't that great of a character anyway. Better keep your gamecube for that.

I do wonder why no one bothered to get Soul Calibur II. It is one of the best 3D fighters of all time. It's even beter than Soul Calibur V. Yet, for some reason, no one has the game?

I have the game for GameCube, so can't play with sadly...

Only have the 360 and original X-Box version. Tried playing it online a while back and couldn't find anyone either. O well at least I got all the online achievements and all other achievements for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown.

Virtua Fighter doesn't require any real effort to get the trophies.  It also doesn't have a platinum, like Soul Calibur II does.  Next, I want to do it in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but the only thing stopping me is grinding out battles to get to Tekken Lord.  I'd get streaks of +20, and no promotion in sight, and get really bored.

At least I got the online stuff out of the way years ago.  I just hate fighting the AI in any game, because it's usually going to be stupidly easy, like in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, or somewhat annoying, because the AI is reading your buttons.  Finishing up weapon master mode yesterday really got under my skin.  Speaking of which, I had to tell a friend of mine to unlock Algol in SCV, because there was no way I was going to be able to do that on my own.  He was once no.1 on the 360 leader boards, and it even took him about an hour to complete that mode.

All my friends are really competent in fighters, though.  Some of the play sessions we have are hilarious.  I'd love to eventually be able to upload some of those sessions to youtube, but, that's quite some time away.

Agreed it was super easy to get all the achievements for it.  The only one that was easier is Tekken Revolution but I'm still playing that once in a while since I'm still trying to unlock all the characters and get to max level.

I 100% Tekken Revolution too, bu, honestly, I hate that game so much.  I've deleted it long ago.  I will stick to TTT2.  Game has so many bad design decisions, I couldn't play it anymore.

On another note, I got some SCII matches in, and got my 1st plat.

Nice, only got two platinums myself Sly 1 and Sly 2 and not really close to getting another one anytime soon the easiest one would probably be Sly 3.  Have 5 full retail games on the 360 where I got all the achievement and two XBL arcade games and only need one more for for AC2.  Probably proudest for getting all the achievements in Forza Motorsports 4 wasn't really hard just time consuming, still playing it on semi regular basis since I'm still trying to unlock some of the badges.
