Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Amiibo Amigos Boardgame on Wii U - Idea

Would you buy a board game that includes 4 -6 amiibos and comes in a board game box. It would work in conjunction with the Wii U game pad which could be placed in the middle of the board as a spinner or dice, and could function in many flexible ways. The board would be interactive and would plug into the gamepad (somehow) or work wirelessly. The TV could also be utilized for some board game options or clues if required.

Parents would buy this? Collectors would buy this for their amibos as a home as such where the board could be flipped over and have a place for each to sit while not in use? It would be a new idea and is very marketable with 4-6 people sitting around a table, each hovering their amiibo over the gamepad etc etc to log in. The object of the game could be similar to any popular board game or could work in a Mario Party way.

**Note** Mexican Idea could include a theme, although there could be many future themes where Nintendo could simply sell additional boards with corresponding DLC data for the Wii U and/or 3DS.

I think it's a great idea, tbh. Well done sir.
I personally expect amiibos to grow a huge amount...from digital, to board games, to arcade games, to phones, etc etc.

(though I'm not sure about the mexicans)

I just thought about the Amigo in the title. If they have 2 italian plumbers, I thought two spanish or Mexican painters might suit well and gain some controversy too.

So then maybe two Mexican landscapers?
Personally id rather just see Mario and Luigi in some ponchos

An Amiibo board game is a great idea. Seriously this sounds really cool. Get on it Nintendo.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It's a great idea. But I feel like in order to be insanely successful like it needs to be, it needs really good marketing. And we all know how Nintendo has a problem with that. However, I don't think the Mexican thing is necessary tbh.

Nah, that idea is way too cool for Nintendo. :P

Seeking feedback on this, why is the Mexican thing unnecessary? Would it be offensive or it's just a bad idea? I like the Amiibo Amigo title is all.

But Nintendo does have many massive successes. This could be one of them.

It's just that it could be streamlined to be more successful.

For example: just call it Amiigos, and just make the mario characters in mexican theme clothes. It could be like a spaghetti western boardgame about bank robbers with wario and waluigi. No need to introduce new characters when they have such a huge roster already.
