Forums - General Discussion - I've just lost a year of my life.

During the week, I was perusing through some thread about gender settings here on VGC, when I decided to check out my profile on here, as I don't think I've touched it since I first signed up.

First thing I noticed was "a 23 year old male gamer".

At first I thought it was just some bug that had gone unnoticed on VGC, but I decided to Google "how old am I?" anyways, brought up a date calculator, and typed in my birthdate.

Turns out I'm genuinely 23 years old, I had no idea. I thought I was 22. Like, I believed I was celebrating my 22nd birthday back in September, and I'm pretty sure I was celebrating my 21st last year. I have no idea how long I've been wrong about my age.

Now being more concerned with my age, and fading immortality, I've started working out more, and am cutting back on the steaks. Just one for Friday lunch now.

I've also become more aware of my underfunded pension, upping my contributions by 10% in the new year.

Please, everybody, for your own sake, insist on birthday cards that have the age printed on them.

Dude, you don't have to sacrifice that much to stay healthy besides work out and steaks go hand in hand. D:

I've always been under the impression that red-meat should be kept to minimum. Chicken and fish is where it's at.

You can eat red meat after a good work out but avoid Pork and the fats (given. lol!) :)

But your normal diet will indeed be fish and chicken.

That's hilarious! I mean really fun stuff. Amazing that is can happen to someone young.

You're right there but as long as you keep active it doesn't matter how much you eat

High levels of saturated fats are too be avoided and red meat tends to have more sat fat than white meats. However you can get lean red meat (usually mince) which is far lower in sat fat than the the normal cut and that won't really be an issue if you have it a few times a week.

What?! How could you have even lost track of your own age...?

The easy solution would be to move your age a year forward on VGC. That way you can continue to live in denial.
