Forums - Sony Discussion - The Crew MetaScore : 65 ( 9 Reviews ) User Score: 5.4 ( 274 Ratings ) PS4

I played through beta on both pc and ps4, ps4 version was a much newer build but with both times, i just didnt enjoy the game at all, it felt sloppy and.. At times utterly boring, didnt provide me with the sense of scale test drive unlimited did back in the day on the 360, or the sense of excitement nfs most wanted (original version) did on pc/ps2.

And in the end, if the game isnt fun, whats the point?

Sucks the Crew bombed. This year has been pretty bad. Lots of late embargoes and review copies for mediocre games. I wouldn't be surprised if this year was higher than last year in sales YoY.

Purchasing a turd goes under a consumers responsibility, NOT the publishers ...

Customers aren't anywhere near gullible as you think they are so the fault lies with them, NOT Ubisoft ...

Final time I am going to address this ...

Your overblowing the whole stuttering issue ... That only occurs when you try to traverse the world at a high speed. Like he said, "not too shabby" ...

Ubisoft has always held a negative interaction with PC gaming so why exactly are they just heavily damned for it now and not before on the internet ? No one's really defending Ubisoft, I'm just tired of the hate bandwagon against them going on here ...

Bold: If the publisher doesn't release enough info for the consumer, I would say its the fault of both and I do think they are fairly gullible considering how many terrible games get sold each year

The consumers are at fault. The consumers ride the hype train and purchase a product they don't know if it's good or not. The publisher takes advantage of this by not giving them the necessary information, thus making a lot of money immediately. It's not the publishers fault that the consumer didn't take the time to study up.

They released a game that had tons of frame rate issues across all platforms and it was filled with bugs and glitches... How much worse can you get from an AAA developer/publisher? And the only reason they did that was to get more guaranteed sales for their other titles since they make $36 for every $60 retail game and doing giving out digital games for $30 should make them even more money. If anything, it was a greedy tactic masked to look like it was something nice

I don't know, maybe releasing a bad game ? Plus I'm pretty sure Bethesda is more guilty of those issues than Ubisoft is ...

How exactly is it a greedy tactic to offer compensation ? Y'know what nevermind about that since you already have your preconclusion so arguing about this isn't very productive ...

Again, it just adds to the issues and lets not forget that the PC version had the original e3 assets inside the game files which modders found out and simply enabled them which is a rather curious and an odd case since most people that enabled the mods, including TB said that the performance hit with the original e3 textures were minimal even though Ubisoft claimed that the reason why those textures weren't enabled to begin with was due to a large performance hit. Oh and from what I heard, the game was fairly disappointing from a story and even gameplay prespective but thats subjective

TheWorse mod is mostly based off of ARTISTIC manipulation, hardly any of it matches the original E3 demo ...

Well, if the publishers make the trailers and everything look very pretty and etc and they also don't send out review copies till the launch date, the only real info the consumers have is the pretty trailers. So I do think its the publishers fault for miss-leading the consumers into thinking that this is a wonderful product and thus exploiting them as well as using tactics such has not sending out review copies till the launch of the game and it is the consumer's fault for trusting the publisher without waiting for the actual reviews to come out which they probably won't do again.

Well, it certainly bombed review-wise. I wonder if it did in sales as well, although it probably did.

I definitely doubt it will manage to reach Ubi's 2 million projection.

Bold: I agree and they got plenty of backlash when they released Skyrim with that many bugs, specially in the ps3 version

I also agree so lets end this discussion, its getting pretty late anyway

Italic: Certainly looks more pretty none the less with its more dramatic lighting and weather effects and stronger depth of field

Oh God... My friend who was looking forward to it for months must be pretty upset.

I hope Ubisoft learns its lesson pretty soon! Otherwise... O_O

italic: Again, I never said the game itself is bad, all I said was that. And TB did say that "Your traveling fast, your frame rate is gonna hitch, over and over again, it consistently happens, it even happened just there as I was moving fairly normally, just sprinting around the place" 11:50. And its not like Far Cry 4 is a small game, the game is huge and you are gonna have to use cars and things a lot in order to get around. Again, as I said, the game is awesome in every way but this is certainly noticable. The port is overall great and the graphics do look pretty but the stuttering is still an issue

Underlined: If you are tired of the hate bandwagon, do what everyone else does and just ignore the posts and threads... Not very hard

Edit: Okay, underlining does not work for some reason

Hence patience being a virtue and you may think that those games are bad but how exactly is your judgement any better than theirs ?

Framerate variance is mostly dependent upon your PC build. FC4's MINIMUM framerates isn't much of an issue as most high end PC gamers will comfortably net above 50+ FPS. The game just scales poorly in terms of average framerates and it's likely caused by the asset loading issues which is plagued in most open world games so why exactly would FC4 be different in that regard ?

Except how does one go about ignoring the hate going on when it's practically everywhere ?

You want to know what's really sad about this and all the other crap this year? There have been some great third party games this year. But unfortunately, Sony and Microsoft and the media didn't put *those* games on a pedestal, they picked the disappointments. And so this year, while not stellar, looks far more abysmal than it is and the whole perception of third party devs is harmed as a result.
