yea that "genetic hybrid" idea is right out asinine .. they already have the biggest and most dangerous animals that ever walked the earth in their movie, why did they feel the need to "spice things up" with shit like that? *sigh*

SW7 played it safe by not having real dialogue/story in the teaser, but the universe with it's focus on a black/white setting makes it really hard to create a decent plotline, so the characters have to be as iconic/loveable as in 4-6, something 1-3 never even came remotely close to

I just don't see the point. Seems more dangerous for the user if anything. Maybe when they show some fights though they'll find some imaginative ways to use it. I'll be disappointed if it's just for show.

Lightsaber looks silly but something interesting to notice is that it has an unstable synth-crystal. An unstable crystal makes the lightsaber blade crackle will energy at erratic intervals, which we can see a bit in the trailer. Perhaps its a crudely made ligthsaber?

Eh, doesn't communicate much. Looks cool, but that's all.

A) Its a lightsaber designed like a broad sword, the two on the side are there to protct the hands if the opponents blade slides down the shaft B) That style of lightsaber has been used before in the EU C)I lost my mind during the scene with the X-Wings D)The movie was shot with as many practical props as possible E) Lost my mind again at the end scene with the Falcon F) Its Episode VII

I like the new Sith lightsaber. The regular lightsaber will still be on show (presumably) so I do not understand the big deal. Sure some argue that it is more of a hindrance/dangerous to use (and unrealistic). Well, so is a regular lightsaber. Only Jedi's have proper training to use such weapons, therefore this is why you do not see storm troopers wielding them.
Star Wars is science fiction. It does not need to be 'realistic'. The Jedi's move ships with their mind and shoot lightning from their fingers.
Star Wars is meant to be fun. I am sure that is what this movie will be.

I am sure everyone can agree it will not be the abomination that is the prequel trilogy.
