Forums - Sales Discussion - Software analysis 15th of November

Alright, this isn't a straight up software post like usual. Instead I'm going to try something different. Like analyzing the numbers that were only available for pro users.

For example,

First off, let's take a look at the new additions this week. The first of which being Minecraft Vita.

31
Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition (PSV)
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Adventure
Pro N/A 1

We know that Europe accounts for 29K of the sales. But that's about all we know. We don't have anything on US or Japan. But what we do know, is that the previous entry is at 47K. An Monster Hunter, which is around 5 positions below it, is 37K. That's a 10K gap, which isn't bad. Going from this, I'm going to need to assume that with each entry, the numbers drop 2K.

So, Minecraft Vita ~45K

And by the same logic, Warlords of Dreanor ~43K

Now this next one is pretty easy, but interesting nonetheless.

37
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (PS3)
Sega, Fighting
Pro N/A

1

We know what this one is because of Japan. This game continues the consistent drop between entries(confirmed), bringing it 2K down, and onto 35.9K

So Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax = 35.9K

And the most interesting part about this, is that there are two games in between this and One Piece. These two being NBA 2K15, and TLOU remastered.

It has been confirmed that One Piece sits right on 35.6K.

So going out on a limb here, We will assume NBA 2K15 ~35.8K, and TLOU Remastered ~35.7K

Now these next two are pretty hard to tell.

These being Tales of Hearts R(EU) and Lego Batman 3(X1)

All we know, is that both of these games sit at a range of 35K > x > 28K

Since they are both at the halfway point between our sources, we will assume that they are at 31K and 30K respectively.

Tales of Hearts R ~31K

Lego Batman 3(X1) ~30K

Now this next part is interesting.

The new game is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

50
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (WiiU)
Nintendo, Adventure
Pro N/A 1

This game is confirmed to be at 27.9K

So Captain Toad = 27.9K

But that isn't the interesting part. The interesting thing are the games that come after it.

6 games.

51
Just Dance 2015 (X360)
Ubisoft, Misc
Pro N/A 4
52
Destiny (XOne)
Activision, Action
Pro N/A 10
53
WWE 2K15 (PS3)
Take-Two Interactive, Sports
Pro N/A 3
54
Madden NFL 15 (PS4)
Electronic Arts, Sports
Pro N/A 12
55
Skylanders: Trap Team (PS3)
Activision, Action
Pro N/A 6
56
Mario Kart 7 (3DS)
Nintendo, Racing
Pro N/A 155

All 6 of these games sit between Captain Toad, and

57
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (PSV)
Sega, Fighting
Pro N/A 1

Dengeki has been confirmed for 26.1K

Meaning that all 6 of those games are at 27.9K > x > 26.1K

Which is insane, considering Mario Kart 7 came out 3 years ago.

The next confirmed game we have is Yokai Watch 2, which sits at 21K

Right under it is Sonic Boom, which we can assume sits anywhere from 18K to 21K.

So Sonic Boom ~19K

Shattered Crystal didn't even chart.

And that's about it for this analysis. Tell me what you thought of it.

Your Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition figures are spot on. It sold 45,309 units. However, your Warlords of Dreanor sales are slightly off. It sold 43,408 units. Also your Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax estimate is correct. Not going to put any other number out there though ;)

First time in a while I've seen you on the forums. I'll edit it to include those numbers.

Animal Crossing is still selling? Talk about looooooooong legs..

I'm assuming it's sitting at around ~17-18K

Yeah I don't post that often on the forums. However, I do read a lot of what everyone writes about sales figures.

Hm, I'll keep that in mind.

Would have though Shattered Crystal would have done better than the Wii U game, given userbase difference. Guess they got what they deserved though quality wise.

Can't get over the fact that the PC-version of Unity outsold the XBONE-version in Germany

PC gamers wanted to prove that "90% of them" weren't pirates.

They do that already with Steam though.

OT: Just FYI, you can view the exact FW sales of any game just by clicking on it and viewing its page (hit "Global" tab)

I did that for some of them. But that's no fun.
