Looks great, doesn't look fun. That's just TOO much walking, and I'm not even the one doing it. Even that one dude got tired 2 minutes into the walk!!!

Looks boring... driving a car and that weird dance walking, I don't see it.

Really, this is one of my most anticipated games right now.

And yes, I cross my fingers for a PC release.

Wow that was boring.

Sure great open worlds are great and all, but there has to be something to do. It looks like its just one giant area to kill random monsters. Where are the side quests, a hut with a person in it that gives out quests, or something.

Just reminds me of FF13 when you reached a point in the game where it was a giant open world finally yet absolutely NOTHING to do, but just kill for xp and loot. completely pointless.

This game doesnt excite me. I was watching another open world demo of FF XV. A guy wearing "modern / city" dress / cosplaying and running like a mercenary looks out of place. It doesnt feel right. I dont know what is special in this game that is making people crazy.

You are kind of cluless about this game. Story-wise the main cast are indeed out of place. They are royalty but war was forced them out of their kingdom. The setting is very similar to VII and VIII. Nothing objectivly negative can be said about it. The game trying to tell a story about our modern world through fantasy. It is a mix of both.

As of what special, I'd say it is the combination of everything. The story meant to be mature, the gameplay is engaging with a lot of strategic elements, the rich content (mini games, side quests, dungeons to explore, fishing), the attention to evey detail is amazing, and everything we love about Final Fantasy ( Magic, Limit breaks, Summons, weakness elements.. Etc).

Now, you tell me what is not special about it. Sometimes that is not based on shallowness.. Of course.

Wow where did you get your copy of the game?

How does it end?  What would you rate it?

Clearly based on your post you have played this game extensively to know all those things about the story, the gameplay, the rich content, ect.

Really? It's hyping me to no end!

Maybe I dont follow brand name (final fantasy). Or maybe I am different. But in the end FF XV looks average. I have a suspicion that it might get released during cyberpunk 2077. And cyberpunk 2077 (none have seen the game, judging from description) might turn out to be a better game.

WHAT????!!!!!! BLASPHEMY!!! You have no soul!!!! :P

Seriously though, this is final fantasy we are talking about... the second you strat trying to make sense of its overall game design and setting then you have  lost the whole point.

The difference between us is that I'm informed and you are not. I based my words on directors announcement and confirmed info. While on the other hand, you failed to understand a simple and clear fact that the NPCs, events, enemies were all left out of the footage because it focuses only on showing the world and day night cycle. Even though it was mentioned in this thread.

I wasn't hyped for this game when it was being made for PS3, but now on PS4/Xbone it really looks awesome.

wow there is a lot of uninformed posts in this thread.

I am beginning to think not a single one of them has ever played a final fantasy game.

As for characters looking outta place? what do they expect? These guys had to flee their kingdom and modern city and basically are travelling through the world. Its as outta place as someone today taking their car from new york and driving to some outback country place. Those being modern suddenly mean the world is devoid of trees and animals?

And saying the world has nothing to do... (very smart conclusion to arrive at from tech demos by the way) thats like saying that cause they showed a tech demo of a game like gears of war without a single shot or explosion then it means in the final game no shots will be fired.

Do these people even know what a final fantasy game is? I can't help but question the kinda silly criticism this game is getting.

I for one is very happy, cause what i really hated about the last two final fantasy games was how linear they were. This takes care of that in spades.
