Wow, 3DS is doing it incredible in Japan. Poor Vita, even in Japan is struggling now.

Problem is none of its titles have managed to stick. Soul Sacrifice missed the mark, Oreshinka was never built to be huge, Freedom Wars didn't quite get the reception they hoped for and Gravity Rush was style over sustance. Everything thats come from a 3rd party is cross platform with psp or ps3...

Future hopes: Phantasy Star Nova, Persona Dancing all night (got delayed til 2015) and Digimon Cyber Sleuth (2015). Its a shame this trio couldn't arrive in time for christmas.

Luckily for sony at the pace at which Japan developers move with the times means that the vita's hardware will relevant for years to come. Hopefully between now and the next 3DS one of Vita's titles manages to catch on like Monster Hunter or Yoki Watch.

Yup, that Tales game was a bust. The remakes on the Vita did better.

Now bring us Tales of Innocence R Namco. No need to worry about the spin-off when we still got mainline titles to get translated.

XB1 went down WoW despite having a (relatively) well promoted game releasing?  Lol.

Surprised how little PS4 jumped despite the bundle, too.

Vita up WoW with two multi-plats?  Kinda surprising.  The Vita version of Jikkyou did MILES better than last year:

~ 23k FW for the 2013 version.

~ 50k FW for the 2014 version.

I guess dropping the PSP SKU made people jump on board to the Vita version, finally.

Evil Within did... less than I expected for what it is, really.  Tales completely underwhelming too - less than the Vita remakes.  Namco have messed around with this franchise too much on handhelds - they should've left it on 3DS after Abyss, or alternatively, stuck it out on Vita.  Switching so often is just stupid.

3DS holding very well! Wii U half of PS4, will it dip into the same lows as last year around this time (3k and just below)? If so, then we're basically back to square one after MK, Bayo 2, Hyrule and other things that were to ensure good momentum for Q4.

Xbox One; nothing much to say, when I said it would perform worse than the 360 a long time ago, I can honestly say that it is the most confident I have ever been in a prediction in my entire life. Fish out of water.

Evil Within did okay, let's see how it holds though. MK 8 on track for a ridiculous attach rate and lifetime sales as usual...

Do I seriously need to point out that a bundle was announced which caused sales to tank? Its sales will go back up from november 13th... sheesh

How does that change the fact that numbers are headed in the same direction as last year, the October sales are looking almost exactly like 2013, only slightly above in the figures. My point is that the market reality for the Wii U seems to remain largely unchanged. There were bundles announced last year at the same time as well, that is not really an argument. A healthy gaming product should not take sales dips this large simply due to bundle announcements.

Of course the sale will rise in November, they would have regardless of bundles; we're going into the holiday season! I remember arguing with a user last year, he claimed that holidays didn't affect Japan sales at all since they don't celebrate traditional christmas like us, he attributed the entire sales rise to bundles and marketing genius.

The Xbox One numbers bring a smile to my face.

PS4 below the 10k mark.

So much doom!

Kantai Collection could be a surprise hit, potentially.

XBO went up by almost 100% on famitsu. Clearly something's wrong with media create tracking this time around.

MS had a promo going where you could buy the game for only 2k, when bought together with the console.

I am surprised that PS4 got no boost

Yep it's fun all around. We should root for the underdog X1 to finally catch up to its predecessor in weekly sales. Getting closer every week but it looks like it's slowing down so it needs all our support.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

3DS already below last years numbers...with 4 skus

You are missing the point that New 3DS still has stock problems in Japan. My reports:
