So the baseline was raised to 40k from 30k last year. Where does the "WiiU sales doubled" come from then? Is that just one countrty or something?

These are the figures from their financial reports. Financial reports are ALWAYS shipped, therefore the 7.29m figure is shipped.

Nintendo does usually report what is shipped or what is sold. I have yet to read that the number is shipped. I believe it is sold.

seriously after so many posts explaining it in this thread how can you post this.

 

It is really really simple. In financial statements companies have legal obligations to provide ACCURATE financial information, the only way they can do this is by stating what they have sold to retailers, anything else would be a guess/estimate which is unacceptable in a financial statement as they have no way to know whether those boxes are in a retailers warehouse or under someones xmas tree.

Saying the WiiU is over by 300k+ is being conservative. It's likely 500k+ over. I know it's not a hot seller but 300k on shelves worldwide is unlikely.

Xbox numbers are harder to get an accurate small range for.

hey murphy what do you estimate the real X1 sell through number to be? Vgchartz has it at 6.1M but after recent MS financials do you beleive it's a bit higher and if so by how much? 

Also Wii U numbers likely are only around 7.1M sold by now and not the 7.4 VGC shows. 

just trying to work out the likely gap!
