It really is. I have no idea why some Souls fans dislike it so!

I LOVE Demon's Souls, one of my favorite games of all time, but it wasn't quite 10. How the world was structured broke the feel of having an epic and grand adventure. I find the design choice of having one hub that connects many areas to be uninspiring and somewhat lazy, it discourages the player to do exploration around the world and find out more about its lore. The way Dark Souls does it is perfect, having Bonfires around the world while everything is connected really helps to feel how dark and despair the world is. Also, Only one boss in Demon's Souls left an impression (flamelurker) All of the main bosses were total disappointment.
Super Mario World
Mario Galaxy 2
Ocarina of Time
A Link Between Worlds
Arkham City

I don't dislike it. I'd say it's one of the best things that came out on the seventh generation altogether. That being said, on the "Souls" franchise, I'd rank it the lowest, behind Demon's and then Dark Souls.
Metroid Prime
Zelda OOT
Super Mario Galaxy
